This Saturday, carpetbagging quasi-incumbent Rep. Lauren Boebert will be holding a campaign event in Castle Rock, which many Denver metro-area liberals might still be surprised to learn is how close Boebert’s would-be new district is to their own abodes. Accompanying Rep. Boebert at her Castle Rock stop is Rep. Thomas Massie, the ever-cantankerous Kentucky Republican who has, like Boebert, made a habit of alienating just about everybody including his friends while still managing to hang on to his seat.
But in this case, the venue for the event matters a lot more than Boebert’s cohost. DCF Guns is the gun store chain owned by infamous election conspiracy theorist on the business end of a massive defamation lawsuit Joe Oltmann, who as readers know allegedly made up key details underpinning the widely-spread election conspiracy theory targeting Denver-based Dominion Voting Systems in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election. As Oltmann’s legal troubles after the 2020 presidential election have compounded, Oltmann’s rhetoric has become steadily more violent, calling for “gallows all the way from Washington, D.C., to California” to hang “traitors to the American people.” In March, Oltmann pushed the boundaries of civil patience yet again calling for President Joe Biden’s execution. Oltmann’s lack of good answers for his increasingly obvious fabrication is prompting further diversionary antics like walking out of a deposition last week, and are only expected to get nuttier as Oltmann’s day of legal destiny nears.
We can safely assume therefore that Rep. Boebert is not on Joe Oltmann’s hanging list? We would love to hear the congresswoman expound on the defamation case against her host, and Oltmann’s threats against some of her colleagues–but we said as much about indicted Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters and Boebert’s former campaign manager Sherronna Bishop, both of whom Boebert ghosted years before she abandoned the Western Slope completely for more tolerant pastures.
Hanging with “America’s Hangman” means never having to say you’re sorry.
We’re not kidding. You could wind up on Oltmann’s list too.
