Boebert's ICE Cheerleading Goes Comically Awry

Via the Daily Beast, Colorado’s carpetbagging crusader of churlishness Rep. Lauren Boebert is once again the butt of jokes across the nation today:

Gushing over Trump’s installation of ICE officers, Boebert posted a gleeful video on her social media on Monday afternoon claiming there’d been an immediate impact in Minneapolis thanks to the new security.

“ICE agents show up at airports,” her video was captioned. She stated, “While the rest of our country has three-plus-hour waits–thanks Democrats–in Minneapolis Airport’s TSA, wait time right now is less than five minutes,” Boebert said.

She laughed, adding that she “called it” and “you can’t make this stuff up!!”

Unfortunately for Boebert, but good news for the factually unchallenged, her social media claim was quickly appended with this Community Note:

ICE agents in airports reportedly aren’t doing much good where they are deployed, and they obviously can’t help in airports where they haven’t even been sent. It’s worth noting that Denver International Airport has also kept wait times blissfully short during the ongoing DHS shutdown, attributable to big investments in a new state-of-the-art screening system.

We’ve generously credited Boebert in moments when, like the fabled stopped clock, she has been right about something.

This, obviously, is not one of those.
