Via 9NEWS’ Kyle Clark, here is former Colorado Springs candidate for mayor and armed militia commander John “Tig” Tiegen having a normal one, which for “Tig” normal being threats to “shed blood” of FBI agents following the arrest yesterday of two more Colorado-based accused January 6th, 2021 insurrectionists:

It’s important to remember that Tiegen for many years wielded a great deal of influence over the Colorado Republican Party through his militia group and its ties to FEC United, the “Sinn Fein” style front for Tiegen and election conspiracy theorist Joe Oltmann whose leadership once included former Colorado GOP chairwoman Kristi Burton Brown. In 2019, Tiegen had the honor of personally filing the Colorado paperwork on behalf on Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
Whether or not Tiegen’s response constitutes a bonafide threat to kill FBI agents gets a little complicated. Generally speaking, if a person is not threatening to “shed blood” of a specific person at a specific place and time, it’s considered to be the outer limits of free speech. There could be some additional provision that applies with respect to threatening federal law enforcement, but we’re neither lawyers nor particularly concerned because we haven’t yet found a reason in life to threaten to kill police officers. Tiegen’s armed militia group the United American Defense Force bills itself as an organization designed “support first responders” in the event of an “emergency” as opposed to, you know, shedding their blood–and this is probably enough to make any competent law enforcement think twice about accepting their support.
Also, Tiegen is not helping sell the perception that January 6th insurrections were peaceful lookie-loos on an “escorted tour.”
