An “exclusive” story in the U.K. tabloid Daily Mail is raising intercontinental eyebrows this morning, documenting a shocking case of alleged negligence behind the wheel by now-Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado that left family members injured–and if the story is accurate, Boebert desperate to cover up the incident just a few weeks before her fateful June 2020 primary against Scott Tipton:
GOP Rep Lauren Boebert ‘bailed’ from the driver’s seat of a Jeep ATV leaving her son and dog in the back seat and her former sister-in-law struggling to right the vehicle as it careened down a ravine and smashed into a rock face in Moab, Utah, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.
According to a family insider Boebert, 35, was off-roading on Mother’s Day 2020 – just two weeks before she was to win a Republican primary – when she lost control and ‘bailed,’ leaving her family members to their fate…
DailyMail.com has learned that no 911 call was ever placed.
Instead, the source said, the then-congressional hopeful, Boebert, ‘begged’ Hooper not to tell anyone about the accident which could have dominated the headlines leading up to the primary.
According to this report, Boebert along with her son and brother’s then-spouse were off-roading near Moab, Utah when Boebert allegedly panicked and jumped out of the driver’s seat, leaving the passengers of the ATV Boebert was driving to veer out of control and crash into a canyon wall. This was not Boebert’s first motor vehicle accident either, as readers know Boebert was charged with careless driving after rolling her pickup truck into a ditch back in 2016. Boebert reportedly begged her then-sister-in-law to not report the accident, offering to pay for all medical treatment. The American Muckrakers PAC, whose complaint over Boebert’s infamously large “mileage reimbursements” from the 2020 campaign is now the subject of an investigation by the Colorado Attorney General, has the details they’ve compiled on Boebert’s 2020 Moab accident here.
Obviously it’s a terrible story, with details that damage Boebert’s reputation without regard to partisanship. In fact the story is so bad that it would help for local reporters to do their due diligence to confirm it, and we’ll be watching for that.
In the meantime, in addition to not eating Boebert’s pork sliders, we advise against letting her drive you places.
