Hey, if The Daily Show & Colbert Report can win from being the best fake national news shows, then Face The State can win for being the best fake Colorado news source.

… okay, I can’t even type that with a straight face. Sorry. I just want to say, though, that I always considered “Reader’s Choice” the real award, just like the actual “best motion picture” usually just won “best screenplay” at the Oscars during the 90s.
But as someone who’s hung around when the Westword staff pulls critics awards out of their — well, out of their collective capriciousness — Ari’s right, it’s the reader’s choice that has more weight.
I believe it was only last year that the readers stopped named McDonald’s french fries as the Best in Denver.
so I’m not so sure the people were really off the mark there.
