From the Associated Press:
Eric Holder, who served as the public face of the Obama administration's legal fight against terrorism and pushed to make the criminal justice system more even-handed, is resigning after six years on the job. He is the nation's first black attorney general.
The White House said that President Barack Obama planned to announce Holder's departure later Thursday. The White House said Holder plans to remain at the Justice Department until his successor is in place.
The 63-year-old former judge and prosecutor took office in early 2009 as the U.S. government grappled with the worst financial crisis in decades and with divisive questions on the handling of captured terrorism suspects, issues that helped shape his six-year tenure as the country's top law enforcement official. He is the fourth-longest serving attorney general in U.S. history. [Pols emphasis]
There is always speculation about the cause whenever a top cabinet member resigns from the job, but Holder has been serving as Attorney General for a long time — longer than most, in fact, as we highlighted in the last line above — so it's not really a surprise that he would leave the Obama Administration well before the end of the President's second term. President George W. Bush, for example, had three different Attorney Generals during his eight years in office.

Holder has spoken about his resignation before, telling the New Yorker in February he was planning to leave office sometime this year.
This presents a dilemma to Obstructionist Republicans: the only way to get rid of the "worst AG in history" is to approve Obama's next AG, who will surely be the worst AG in history–according to Them.
The
blackestworst AG and President in history !Let's hope that Holders replacement will be committed to removing (de-scheduling, not re-scheduling) cannabis from Schedule 1. Let's end this failed war on drugs – and unchain the opportunity for industrial hemp for our nation's farmers.
amen to that, mike. farmers need fair acess to new markets and hemp — which Geo Washington and Henry Clay grew — is useful and won't make you high.
Did you know that the USDA research plots on industrial hemp were where the Pentagon stands today? It's ironic to think that on the very grounds where once our energy solution existed – and that since then our military might has been used predominantly to keep the oil shipping lines open in the Strait of Hormuz and protect Middle Eastern oil reserves – while right under our nose, American farmers could have provided that energy resource for nothing.
Henry Ford nailed it in the 40's – unfortunately his plan was killed by the oil barons of the day
Good lord I butchered that sentence. I know you'll get my point. Was in a rush to get out of the office!
Ford was an amazing man. Incredibly far-sighted in some ways on technology, he was also a fervent Jew-hater who inspired Hitler. as always, we have to go with the good of our icons and combat the legacy of their evil sides.
Wasn't it Carl Jung that said one must have a dark side to be a whole person? If so, then Ford was definitely "whole".
That approach would also make Andrew Carnegie a hole.
And he proves it with every post.
When I was a kid, Jews d stil didn't drive Fords or German cars. but that kind of faded awy over the years.
