Josh Penry Loves Him Some Chris Romer

Via Squarestate.net, how many Republicans in the City and County of Denver again?

Team Romer is counting on you!

We’re sort of joking, but a 2010 GOP gubernatorial candidate as a host for mayoral candidate Chris Romer’s fundraiser is sure to raise some eyebrows. Positively in some circles, maybe, but you have to wonder if it won’t do more harm than good in a Denver city election.

Of course, Denver elections are nonpartisan. In Romer’s case, very much so.

    1. I would expect to see some bigger Republican attorneys, developers, etc on a few of the candidates’ supporter lists — they know they have to cross party lines for things like this (and it’s not like the Mayor’s office deals with many partisan issues anyway).

Penry is a weird choice though given his fall from power.  I think his name would have some serious blowback in certain communities (Democrat and Republican).  Interesting that this popped up over at squarestate first — I can’t imagine Romer has much support on the left anyway, and this is just a slap in the face.
