Newsweek reports from carpetbagging crusader Rep. Lauren Boebert’s latest check-in with coup plotter and hirsute layer-dresser Steve Bannon, whom we’ve always known was an idol of Boebert’s…but now it’s, well, official idolatry:
Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert has said that former Donald Trump aide Steve Bannon is considered a “god”.
In conversation with Boebert on his War Room podcast, Bannon said he will be taking part in an event and live show in Colorado’s 4th congressional district. This is where Boebert intends to run for a new seat in 2024. She is vying to replace GOP Rep. Ken Buck, who said he would not be seeking reelection this year.
Speaking on the show, Boebert said: “I got to give a shoutout to the posse here. Steve Bannon is loved all throughout America. I travel all the states, and I hear about you. But, in eastern Colorado, you are their superstar. You know, maybe you are their God with a little ‘g.'”
So obviously, Boebert doesn’t really consider Steve Bannon to be a literal supernatural entity, which is good because Bannon looks like he could drop dead at any moment due to any number of readily apparent natural causes. But it’s nonetheless a bit strange for Boebert, a supposedly pious monotheistic Christian, to throw that word around in reference to anyone except, you know, the Big Guy. Or at least his kid. We know this gets confusing.
The point being that if Boebert really is hearing nothing but “Steve Bannon is god” in her travels, either around the country or in her new wannabe congressional district, she’s not talking to a healthy cross-section of voters. In Boebert’s former district, she tended to stick to politically like-minded audiences, and there’s no reason to believe Boebert will represent the voters of CO-04 any differently. Outside that relatively small, angry bubble in either district you’ll be hard-pressed to find anyone who’s even heard of Steve Bannon.
Sorry Steve, America’s just not that into you. But at least Steve Bannon will always have a congregation of one.

Does she mean the eastern Colorado, Holyoke, where she came in substantially behind Jerry in the straw poll? Fifth in another poll? Didn’t she poll below Holtorf in Akron when she showed up for her Mean Girl skit so WashPo could write a fluff piece? She’ll be auditioning to be Bannon’s co-host by mid-June.
Bannon is happily married I believe, so forget it Bobo.NEVER MIND. Single since 2009. Go get him.
Perish the thought, Jeffco! The synergy of those two would be more than even MAGAworld could take.
Bobo's probably just looking for a soft place to land, since politics doesn't seem to be in the cards anymore. Bannon is still a master grifter and propagandist.
Boebert is pushing rational people into a corner. At some point, those "rational people" turn into "corner animals". It won't be pretty…
For the love of God, would someone please run this man through a carwash?
