    1. There was a thread yesterday on Yahoo News about the blue demonic horse at DIA. You can probably imagine some of the comments from the conspiracy theorists.

  1. Colorado Sun has a no-details article on PERA.  Trying to imagine what went on, since there hasn't been much in the way of an explanation:

The PERA board convened in downtown Denver on Monday evening for a special meeting to discuss [Executive Director Ron] Baker’s employment status. The board immediately voted unanimously to enter a secret executive session, which lasted more than six hours.

When the board emerged from its closed-door session, Vice Chair Suzanne Kubec made a motion to terminate Baker, which was seconded by Colorado Treasurer Dave Young, who sits on the board. The motion passed unanimously and the meeting adjourned.

    1. Since that's my money we're talking about, I did a little digging. PERA has some mixed reviews as a workplace environment on Glassdoor.

It looks as though Ron Baker was not on board with aligning PERA's investment with Colorado's climate policies. PERA has been heavily invested in oil and gas until relatively recently.

If that's the reason PERA and Baker are parting ways, I say, "Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, Ron."

      1. Varying alignments on investment policies and figuring out if the Exec Director is following Board instructions doesn't strike me as a justification for a 2 month disappearance and a 6 hour Executive Session.

        Your mileage may differ.
