  1. Meanwhile next door…

The first disqualification of a public official for participating in the January 6 attack

The ruling immediately removes Griffin from his position as a county commissioner. It also permanently bars him from serving as a presidential elector and from holding or seeking any future local or federal office.

State District Court Judge Francis Mathew based his decision on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

I guess he *ucked around and found out?

    1. My favorite NM whacko of this decade (so far).

Not only a Trump advocate.  Not only a J6 insurrectionist.  Not only defying the court and trash-talking while awaiting sentencing on the misdemeanor conviction.  He also talked his fellow county commissioners into NOT certifying the last election until

The state Supreme Court ordered the commission to certify results no later than Friday, and the office of the state’s attorney general also threatened legal action if it failed to comply.

The commission ultimately voted two-to-one to approve the results on Friday, with Griffin maintaining his “no” vote.

“My vote to remain a no isn’t based on any evidence, it’s not based on any facts, it’s only based on my gut feeling and my own intuition, and that’s all I need,” he told The Washington Post.

  2. I was in California yesterday when this event occurred. Within minutes demand plummeted and rolling blackouts were averted: voluntary action driven by data. This is the way it works in a non-wacksdoodle, conspiracy-free world void of Matthew Foldi tweets:

A text asked millions of Californians to save energy. They paid heed, averting blackouts

“Within moments, we saw a significant amount of load reduction showing up, to the tune of approximately 2,000 megawatts over the next 20 to 30 minutes,” said Elliot Mainzer, the president and chief executive of the California Independent System Operator, which runs the state’s power grid. “That significant response from California consumers to the wireless emergency alert allowed us to restore our operating reserves and took us back from the edge of broader grid disturbance.”
