Regardless of the events directly resulting in the shot that killed Martin, Zimmerman’s actions leading up to that fatal moment went beyond his duties as a neighborhood watchman, and the facts need to come out at a trial.
I’m glad to hear that he turned himself in; I can’t imagine the trauma of shooting a kid and killing him.
This one needs to be tried in a court of law and no longer in the court of public opinion.
That said, if it weren’t for the amount of public attention this received, I think it’s highly improbable that Zimmerman would have ever been charged with a damn thing. I thank the Martin family, the millions that signed the petition, the blogs and the MSM for keeping the heat on Sanford for 45 days and especially Governor Scott for appointing Special Prosecutor Corey.
He’s a (court-proven) fraudster who probably wouldn’t have set a special prosecutor on the case if it hadn’t been for the media firestorm.
