Seven years ago, Colorado passed a landmark new law to send mail ballots to every active registered voter in the state. Part of a package of major reforms to Colorado election law, The Voter Access & Modernized Elections Act of 2013 made Colorado a leader in voter participation.
Something else happened, too: we helped prove that mail ballots work.
In 2020, the mail ballot system that Colorado pioneered is the envy of the nation. We’ve conducted three federal elections with some of the highest voter turnout in America, and we’ve proven that voting by mail is safe and secure. Voting by mail made sense before COVID, and in 2020 voting by mail could literally save lives.
Sen. Cory Gardner knows all of this. Gardner won his US Senate Seat by less than 2% in the first federal election conducted in Colorado using mail ballots. Cory Gardner knows that Donald Trump is lying when he says mail ballots don’t work. And when Trump attacks the U.S. Postal service to undermine Colorado’s mail ballot system, Cory Gardner knows it’s wrong.
But once again, Cory Gardner is choosing to serve Donald Trump over Colorado. So, our first order of business today is for you to click here: tell Cory Gardner right now to demand full funding for the U.S. Postal Service, and to stop lying for Donald Trump about mail ballots he knows work.
Thanks again for your timely help demanding better from Cory Gardner. It won’t be the last time you’ll need to hold Gardner accountable between now and November. Here are some more ways to get involved for the week of August 17:
