It’s just funny because the archetype makes so much sense but I don’t know if the person exists. That said, there are a slew of elected officials on the Western Slope (and Front Range, err, and Eastern Plains) that I’ve never heard of or thought about so you never know.

I honestly thought it would be Bidlack or Scanlan and it is great to know that there are many, many qualified Dems who would be available.
not that Garcia isn’t, but Hal is a really dynamic speaker, has military experience, and could pull Republicans that look at their own mess and decide the dems are better this time around.
Bidlack is not a Spanish name. BOTH are equally qualified. (Bidlack is a friend of mine on FB) But Garcia delivers all of the anti tancredo crowd.
And I don’t see the big deal about picking a woman. We’ve had women Lts. Hispanic from higher ed sphere outside Denver metro sounds like a very good choice for a Gubernatorial candidate from Denver.
Low risk, better then average return. But will Hickenlooper debate Tancredo and the GOP.
If Hick gets on stage with Tancred’oh! or McPlagarist isn’t even a question….because he’ll make them look like the hysterical shrieking idiots they are, all the while looking cool, collected and he’ll crack a few jokes.

Takes Hickenlooper out of being “Denver Centric”. Garcia brings in Southern Colorado support plus Pueblo money backers. He is articulate and savy
