What you can do to fight back this week (October 14)

Last week, a group of local and national reporters working together finally cornered Sen. Cory Gardner and pressed him about the fast-moving impeachment inquiry against President Trump over Trump’s blatant extortion of Ukraine for political advantage in the upcoming election.

In a video now seen by millions across the nation, Sen. Gardner was asked seven times if he thinks what Trump did is appropriate–and Gardner dodged the question every single time. Cory Gardner prides himself in never letting the press see him sweat, but he couldn’t answer the most basic questions about Trump’s very clearly impeachable offenses. For a Senator who sits on the Foreign Relations Committee, Gardner’s refusal to hold Trump accountable for this obvious corruption is an abdication of leadership.

Veteran political strategist James Carville said it best after watching Gardner’s disastrous performance: “I don’t think he is vulnerable, I think he’s done. He ought to just drop out of the race.” [1]

Cory Gardner promised to be a different kind of Republican. The kind that claimed “when my party’s wrong, I’ll say it.” When he was given the opportunity to prove it, seven times in a row, he failed each and every time.

It’s getting worse for Cory Gardner every day, but thanks to you and everything you do week after week to help fight back against Trump, Gardner, and the far right we’re winning the battle for hearts and minds in Colorado. From the thousands who showed up last Friday for a rally with world-famous climate activist Greta Thunberg to taking a moment to vote YES on Propositions CC and DD in this year’s statewide election, you’re proving that what’s right with our state is better and stronger than anything that’s wrong with it.

So thanks once again–and here are more great ways to take action for the week of October 14:

2019 CIRC Member Assembly | Asamblea Anual de Miembros de CIRC

We are excited to host the 12th annual CIRC Member Assembly in Grand Junction for 2019. Every year, CIRC Members congregate to celebrate policy wins like SB139 (I-Drive Colorado) and HB1124 (Benavidez Bill), train each other on crucial skills and collectively decide on the policy priorities for the next year. 2020 is going to be a high stakes year for the Immigrant Rights Movement in Colorado, and we need to be united and indivisible to push through barriers in our way to liberation.

When: Friday, October 18 at 6:00pm
