Romney Headed For The Money In Aspen (Yes, Still BFE)

UPDATE: As we were saving our post, FOX 31’s Eli Stokols was updating his:

[S]ources tell FOX31 Denver that the campaign may be considering adding a public event or two, possibly one Tuesday on the western slope and another Wednesday morning in Colorado Springs, likely something focused on the wildfires… [Pols emphasis]

So maybe he will get to explain the cutting back on firemen thing (see below).

Somewhere near Charlie Sheen’s house.

FOX 31’s Eli Stokols:

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney will attend a private fundraiser in Aspen on Monday, multiple sources have told FOX31 Denver.

No details have been released and, at the moment, no public campaign events are scheduled in Colorado.

There have been rumors that the campaign may be considering adding a public event, possibly something focused on the wildfires that have been burning across the state…

A rousing “Obama burned your house down” rally during Mitt Romney’s latest visit to the outlands of Colorado might have kept on message with the recent related campaign we’ve been following since the wildfires got going–the things local Republicans say when they’re not flying in on Air Force One for a photo op. Campaigning on this issue may well have proved a bridge too far for Romney personally, like Lamborn–Romney said only last month:

Romney said of Obama, “he wants another stimulus, he wants to hire more government workers. He says we need more firemen, [Pols emphasis] more policemen, more teachers. Did he not get the message of Wisconsin? The American people did. It’s time for us to cut back on government and help the American people.”

With that in mind, we agree it’s wise for Romney to not have a rally about the fires.

  1. You need to get over the idea that these people have an ounce of humanity. They do not.

You can go back to pulling half your punches in December! 🙂

    1. What’s $15 million among your Hollywood friends?  I don’t think Obama was there to rub shoulders with “the 99%” then.  Of course, much of the 99% appeared to have voted for Republicans in the U.S. House races in 2010.  Imagine that!

      .

If we believe Romney, he’ll view governing through the lens of a business.

Trouble is running a successful business and successfully running a government are two fundamentally different things; just because you are good at doing one, doesn’t necessarily mean you will be good at the other.
