GOP Candidate Promises To Bring Bias Back To The State Capitol

  •
  • by: Colorado Pols

From the party that over the years has produced such memorable monikers as Jim Smallwood and Jeff Crank, meet the Republican candidate for the Colorado House vying to succeed term-limited Rep. Matt Soper in HD-54:

Jason Bias, and as far as we know that is the name he was born with, is the former president of the Colorado Mesa University chapter of  Turning Point USA, where his name in that particular position inspired plenty of ironic humor among the student body. Less amusing was the escalating far-right agitation on CMU campus that coincided with Bias’ time there, which included a visit by white supremacist author Jared Taylor we wrote about in this space. Mr. Bias reportedly has a social media feed that would make the Colorado House’s current leading shock monkeys Ken DeGraaf and Scott “Rock” Bottoms blush, which should give readers some idea what to expect from him in the legislature next year:

Charming, but according to Bias’ bio, he’s off the market.

Mr. Bias briefly considered running for the Third Congressional District after Rep. Lauren Boebert’s flight to redder pastures, because that’s what all serious people do right out of college! Having lowered his expectations to the more attainable if less lucrative office of state representative, this by all accounts embodiment of his surname is the favorite to become the Colorado General Assembly’s newest problem child next January.

On the upside, it could be refreshing comic relief in tense debates for “Representative Bias” to take the floor.
