Clarice Navarro Gets Ready To Party!

Donald Trump, Rep. Clarice Navarro.

As the Pueblo Chieftain’s Peter Roper reports–it’s Rep. Clarice Navarro of Pueblo’s big moment, as her longsuffering support for President-elect Donald Trump, which elevated her into a significant Latina surrogate for the Trump campaign, pays off with prestigious co-host status at a Trump inaugural ball:

State Rep. Clarice Navarro is among the Republicans hosting a Latino Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C., for President-elect Donald Trump on Jan. 19.

Navarro, who represents House District 47, was one of the Latino-elected officials the Trump campaign turned to last summer to help its outreach to those voters.

The black-tie ball is just one of a list of inaugural celebrations taking place that night but the $200-per-ticket event at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel is intended to showcase Latino culture and support for the new administration.

In announcing her participation, Navarro told reporters, “Each and every one of us on the host committee are ready to do what we can to assist the Trump team ‘Make America Great Again’ but this will be a special evening to celebrate the hard work that so many took part in to make this awesome victory happen.”

We questioned the hell out of Rep. Navarro’s audacious campaigning as a Trump surrogate during the election, running in a nominally competitive district with a large Latino vote. But as we all know now, Navarro had little to be afraid of against the underdog challenger she beat by 15 points–and a jackpot of status and opened doors in what everyone presumed was unlikely event of a Trump victory. Most likely with benefits without the victory, like maybe a spot on The Apprentice.

But that’s irrelevant now, because Clarice Navarro won the jackpot.

We can’t say what the judgment of history will be, but for today Rep. Navarro is queen of the ballroom. We wouldn’t be surprised to see her snatched up by the Trump administration in the coming months, and fitting right into the Washington D.C….you’re not supposed to call it a swamp anymore. But you know what we mean.

To the victor goes the spoils.
