Open Letter to Mark Udall

  • by: JO

I write as a Udall delegate to both the CD2 and state conventions.

As you know, Barack Obama will be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2008. Technicalities and Hillary Clinton’s refusal to concede this fact notwithstanding, Tuesday’s primaries made it clear: the 2008 Democratic primary is over. No one with a single ounce of credibility disagrees, and Hillary only damages her reputation, and the Democratic Party, by procrastinating in getting to work on the November election.

We MUST begin working immediately to bring our party together behind the presidential nominee. YOU, sir, have a key role in this: by endorsing Barack Obama, you can help persuade Hillary Clinton to drop her posturing and get behind the nominee. This is far, far more important than her bruised ego, which is too bad but a matter of tough luck.

PLEASE, as both my Representative and the party’s future Senate candidate–the only Colorado superdelegate on a state-wide ballot–GET OFF THE FENCE TODAY. Help start unifying the party. THIS IS YOUR LEGITIMATE ROLE–possibly the only legitimate role–AS A SUPERDELEGATE.

Although I’m signed up to work for the Coordinated Campaign, you can’t expect me to generate an iota of enthusiasm for YOUR candidacy if you aren’t maximizing your contribution to carrying Colorado for the presidential ticket in 2008.
