Trump Takes Dump On Boebert Over Epstein Special Prosecutor

  •
  • by: Colorado Pols

Politico reports today from the White House press briefing, where press secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed calls from a growing number of Republicans for a special prosecutor to investigate the handling of the case of deceased billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein:

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Thursday said President Donald Trump would not recommend a special prosecutor in the Jeffrey Epstein case, despite Republicans’ growing frustration around the administration’s handling of the investigation…

“The president would not recommend [a] special prosecutor in the Epstein case. That’s how he feels,” Leavitt told the media from the briefing room podium.

This comes after Colorado’s Rep. Lauren Boebert called once again for a special prosecutor yesterday, this time omitting the laughable suggestion that another accused kiddy diddler, former Rep. Matt Gaetz, lead the inquiry:

“People are frustrated. We want to know if there’s more information,” Boebert said in an interview Wednesday on NewsNation’s “On Balance.”

“I don’t know exactly what [Attorney General] Pam Bondi has seen or what she hasn’t seen,” she continued. “I’ve seen just as much that has been released from her as you have. And so I’m saying maybe someone else needs to take a look at this.”

As of about an hour ago, that’s not happening. Now we’ll find out what matters more: loyalty to Trump or ridding the world of the global pedophile menace, rumors of which helped propel both Boebert and Trump to office. Even though her suggestion of Matt Gaetz to lead the inquiry was absurd, Boebert has refused to simply walk away from the Epstein scandal even after Trump declared it to be a “hoax” and ordered his supporters to forget about it on pain of excommunication. The polls say overwhelmingly that voters are appalled and deeply suspicious of the administration’s conduct, and blowing off a special prosecutor will only make it worse.

If Boebert caves now, even her most loyal groupies could get indigestion. Either way, Boebert can’t unsay what she’s already said on the record.
