Well at least my gas stove should be safe for the next four years.
And speaking of things with open flames, anybody know when and where the Rob Reiner self immolation is taking place? Searched the net and haven't found any info when the Meathead will go up in flames. Please post if you hear anything and circle back to me.

Democracy as a luxury … and just imagine how people will react when the tariff/sales tax whims of Trump are put into place. He won’t even need legislation, as far as I can tell, so it is an easy “Day One” option.
Understanding why Trump won is important in order figure out a way forward.
Harris ran a great campaign, but it was completely incapable of penetrating the MAGA bubble. The media landscape now consists of Fox News, Social Media & Podcasts. To a great extent if you are in that bubble you the MAGA lies as facts, no matter how far-fetched. The economy is terrible. Their eating the cats. Trump is a great business man.
It is insufficient for us to live in the "reality bubble", but I don't have a magic solution. We'll have to do the slog of communication and "I told you so".
I do figure that JD Vance won't be able to win the culture wars, but he is completely capable of breaking NATO, encouraging Russia, raising tarriff-taxes on imported goods, lowering taxes on the rich. This will explode the deficit, and lead to inflation and dramatically higher interest rates.
The sad fact is that disinformation powered this election, from trump, from the media, and from outside actors. Sadly, that is our new reality. It is grim and dystopian and it's unlikely to change.
I'm going to go with, stop trying to get Republicans to be Democrats, which just depresses your base.

Trump won fewer votes in 2024 than he did in 2020 … But the Biden/Harris decay was almost 13 million … Questions about HOW Democrats lost 13 million voters will be an interesting discussion. My first thought tends to look at all the things Biden was able to bring to the table that Harris did not — male, white, nearly 50 years of public service as "moderate" or "pragmatist", AT some point, there will be an analysis looking at the two WINNING Trump campaigns as measures of deeply set opinions on women leaders in the current United States.
Trump hasn't won the popular vote yet. Saw an item on Yahoo News earlier today that only half of California's votes have been counted. Which is why the Dems still hope that several of those marginal R House districts in CA can be flipped back to D.

No gloating here. Just checking in on my friends. Life is short. It hit me hard with the passing of my brother a couple of weeks ago. He was a big man with even a bigger heart. I'll miss him! It also remined me that as I age I need to get rid of stuff. Material stuff and relationship stuff. That is why I'm back to wish you well in everything you do. I know that none of you really meant the things you said about me. Sometime it's just fun to make fun of other when you do it with a smile.
My brothers wishes were to be cremated. Does anyone have experience with what the cost of cremation should be? I'm trying to judge if what I paid was reasonable.
