Yesterday, Colorado’s Sen. John Hickenlooper Tweeted his addition of a Pride Flag to the display of flags in front of his Washington, D.C. office:

Like every Democrat of any stature on Twitter these days, Sen. Hickenlooper has a healthy contingent of conservative trolls in his replies, and as we know from the controversy here in Colorado Pride Month has severely upset conservatives this year. In addition to raging against the supposed evils of displaying a Pride Flag in general, conservative uber-troll LibsofTikTok moved in for what they thought was the kill:

Not only did Sen. Hickenlooper fly the iniquitous Pride Flag, but he doesn’t even have an American Flag on display?! For a few minutes, one of the nation’s foremost right-wing muckmakers thought they had Fox News’ evening headline.
But sadly for the conservative mediasphere fresh off the “cheap fake” of President Joe Biden watching off-screen paratroopers, this too was not to be:

As the Senator explained:
When the American flag is displayed alongside others it is always placed in the position of highest prominence. That’s why we (and every other Senate office) [Pols emphasis] display it on its own to the left of our office.
Oops! Way to not only be humilated, but let slip to the world you don’t know anything about the subject of flag etiquette–and don’t spend much time in the halls of power either.
We wish all misinformation could be batted down so easily.
