What I find to be astonishing is the 21% of Biden-to-Trump defectors who blame Biden for the overturning of Roe. You can't make this stuff up.

Then I have to think back to the 2000 presidential election campaign when Al Gore was painted as weak on environmental issues by George W. Bush and Ralph Nader.
For those too young to recall, in 1992, George H.W. Bush derisively referred to Gore as "Ozone Man" because of his strong commitment to environmental protection.
There is stupid and then there is STUPID. (I know. We're not suppose to mock people or intelligence-shame them. Instead, we are to call them "low information voters" or some other nonsensical euphemism.)
….and then G.H.W.B went on to create the first and only cap-and-trade program we’ve ever implemented to deal with acid rain. It worked, cleaning up the air while innovation in the private marketplace drive down the cost of compliance a hundred fold. The Republicans have spent their time since pretending such a scheme wouldn’t work and to just ignore all of the science on climate. I wish I was making this up.

I didn’t have an emotional response to his address. He’s from the conservative sect of the Catholic Church. He was speaking at a Catholic College. He shared his beliefs from his narrow perspective and you can decide to take them or leave them.
I loathe the hypocrisy.
The very people vocal in his support were the same ones denigrating Kapernick. You also don’t get to be a pro-family hero and not address the social constructs that would make larger families, for those who so choose, healthier, happier, fed and better educated, policies generally eschewed by the right. Treat our future generations as the precious resource they are; treat them like we’d treat a Wall Street Bank in financial trouble. Show me you’re serious: (as an example) get behind a permanent implementation of Senator Bennet’s child tax credit.
I don't care about the content of his speech, or if he's gunning to be the next Tim Tebow or Bill McCarthy with a reivival of the Promise Keepers.
It's the hypocrisy that bugged me.
I was reading about his mother who has been employed as a medical physicist and has graduate degrees. A successful profesional woman who somehow managed to squeeze in enough time and energy to fulfill her God-ordained role as a parent to raise a son who is a professional football player with dreams of restoring June Cleaver as the role model for women today.
The Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica have some thoughts on the speech:
There are a number of policy positions to take to improve the situations of young families. Child Tax Credit. Expanded health insurance for ALL children. Year-round meals from schools. Clean water mandates that replace lead pipes. Health care for all pregnant women. Stronger federal standards for breastfeeding on the job. Paid family leave programs. a living wage as a basis for federal minimum wage legislation.
Siome even fit into Republican dogma (e.g., lower taxes).
I was particularly impressed by the response of the Benedictine Sisters …
Ummm. You forgot a few things, Jeff. New Deal-era policies that catalyzed a great deal of prosperity in CD-4 over decades. Rural electrics, rural telephone companies. Local farm cooperatives.. Farm Bill safety nets that underpin CD-4 farmers and food security to so many across the eastern plains. Significant investments in broadband during Obama, furthered under the Biden Administration.
Just about every rural school district in CD-4 has new or dramatically improved school buildings thanks to BEST, a Democratic policy. The Republican River Water District got a massive infusion of cash from our governor, easing the transition and lowering costs to our farmers. Clean energy policy, fought by almost every Republican that has brought billions in investments to the windy plains (and thousands of jobs for Front Range inhabitants). Long-range commitments to infrastructure. The Affordable Care Act. Paid family leave. Living wages.
I could go on but I think you get the point (I’m not talking about the one you’re hiding under that cowboy hat).

What squad nonsense? What are you even talking about? Or do you just react any time you see AOC?
No, apparently one clown (MTG) made a crack about the appearance of another committee member (someone from TX who may or may not have been wearing fake eyelashes). Another clown (AOC) demanded that the remarks be "taken down" which is a parliamentary rebuke.
And we wonder why no one takes anything anyone tries to do in Washington seriously.
That's all right. Next year, the House will probably be in Democratic hands and they can impeach President Trump. Again. And again. And again.

Crockett had the perfect response to MTG. She put a hypothetical to the chairman which was obvious in its putdown of Greene. And no histrionics were needed. And she could fend for herself.
Of course, AOC, being the chronic rescuer that she is, saw an opportunity to create a scene (something she is good at), make noise (something else she is good at), and fundraise (something she is really good at).
