“A good man can be stupid and still be good. But a bad man must have brains.”

Yikes!
The Screaming Yam’s puppeteers are planning to bring back the Comstock laws: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/01/29/opinion/biden-trump-abortion-election.html
Congress should repeal the Comstock Act.
But, then, old laws are never repealed.
I think we can agree that a law written in 1873 and used in a 2024 SCOTUS case on women's reproductive health should be a candidate for review/sunset?
Colorado Springs / El Paso County voters won't have Doug Bruce to kick around in the primary election. Colorado Politics reported over the weekend that
Crank qualified with petition signatures. Gardner submitted petitions last week, but they have not yet been verified.
I respectfully disagree with Mr. Gorky. In my day I have witnessed a lot of stone cold stupid people who are also horrible human beings.
"
Stupidity is a more dangerous enemy of the good than malice. One may protest against evil; it can be exposed and, if need be, prevented by use of force. Evil always carries within itself the germ of its own subversion in that it leaves behind in human beings at least a sense of unease. Against stupidity we are defenseless. Neither protests nor the use of force accomplish anything here; reasons fall on deaf ears; facts that contradict one’s prejudgment simply need not be believed – in such moments the stupid person even becomes critical – and when facts are irrefutable they are just pushed aside as inconsequential, as incidental. In all this the stupid person, in contrast to the malicious one, is utterly self satisfied and, being easily irritated, becomes dangerous by going on the attack. For that reason, greater caution is called for when dealing with a stupid person than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous."
Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Letters and Papers from Prison
That's a nice excerpt joe_burly. So true.
Of course he did. Fat Donnie really, really doesn't want this trial to commence:
Trump Targets Daughter of Judge in NY Criminal Trial in Truth Social Post
Mike Luckovich paints a very stark picture of our current problem among certain voters
OK, this is more of a business thing, but this is just crazy…
So Truth Social is now trading at around $ 75 a share. Trump owns 58 % with a valuation of around 5.4 billion. With the other 42 % the total value of the SPAC is around $ 9.3 billion. Revenue for the last nine months was 3.3 MILLION and they continue to lose money.
The official word from the company is Trump can’t sell his shares for the first six months without board approval.
Who is on the board you ask ? Kash Patel and Donald Trump Jr. !
Not a scam pump and dump stock deal leaving a bunch of idiots holding the bag. No sir. Not at all.
Lots of folks are going to learn that lesson the hard way Mr. Bowman !
RFK, Jr makes his pick for VP. You don't suppose her bank account had any influence on his decision??
Isn't it amazing that just yesterday – literally yesterday – he was screaming poverty?
America! What a country!
He found the honey pot!
Paper Moon started playing in my head as I read this, Michael.
Seems like a good stock to short if you're into that.
And here I was hoping that RFK, Jr. did something bold like picked Aaron Rodgers or that guy who hosts "Dirty Jobs."
2024 Election Live Updates: Latest Trump, Biden and RFK Jr. News – The New York Times (nytimes.com)
Whose going to tell Don Poorleone this next trial is not a civil case and the judge whose family he keeps attacking is the one who will decide whether he stays out of jail pending appeal if convicted (and what his sentence will be)?
Who'd have thunk that 60 seconds of unmemorable copulation would be the first domino? Fat Donnie wanted the circus with Fani, not because there was solid legal underpinning of their argument , but for the political optics. We're about to witness the mother of all optics, and not in the way he wants.
Well, that lasted about a cup of coffee. I guess the suits got the message from the hosts’ diatribes yesterday. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/26/business/media/ronna-mcdaniel-nbc-msnbc.html
And some large number of viewers.
Todays recap of Truth Social:
FFS. Are we ever going to be free of these loons?
"Inside sources"? As in, the ones inside her head?
The fact she is working with Michael Flynn tells you all you need to know. Maybe they could use an experienced liar like Ronna.
According to my social feed, Duke, Ronna is going to be busy suing the libtards for the defamation and mental distress she's suffering from the media using her exact words over the weekend, resulting in her termination by NBC. Awaiting the stable genius to weigh in 🤣
Rona
RomneyMcDaniel is probably going to get a big chunk of money (which she probably deserves) and a lot of press attention (which she can then convert into her campaign against Michigan Senator Gary Peters) from her role as the one who took on the Cancel Culture Club with her suit against NBC.I'm going to say something that will probably make me unpopular on this site (hee, hee, hee) but here goes: the solution to stupid speech is not to muzzle the stupid speaker but to expose the stupidity being parroted. I know, that was such a quaint, 20th century idea.
They should have kept her and put her up against someone who could expose her nonsense for what it is. But in today's PC world, that's not how it works. (I was actually a big fan of CNN's Crossfire in the '90's when you had Bill Press or Juan Williams going up against Lynne Cheney or Pat Buchanan.)
And least you think that I see this as only the left going after some hapless stupid rightie, I also want to see the opposite take place. I'd love to see Ilhan Omar or AOC go on Fox as a contributor. To my knowledge – and I invite anyone out there to correct me – Bernie Sanders is about the only hard left pol who has the stones to appear on Fox. They could call Laura Ingram or Jessie Watters out for their shit.
But instead, each side is relegated to shouting into the echo chamber that is their respective audiences.
