  1. Merry Christmas to all! Thank you for another year of debate! While we clearly have our differences, I appreciate our discussions and wish the very best for everyone.

  2. Merry, Merry Christmas to all of you and the happiest of holidays!

If you're looking for something to do on the 30th, here ya go.  There better be a #RollCoal contingent or it won't be legit.

    1. So, he's organizing support to impeach the four justices. There are number of things wrong with this picture.

First, he brags about state legislators in Goergia and Missouri supporting him. But he fails to list any Colorado state House members. He will need at least one Colorado state House member to even introduce an impeachment resolution.

Second, and this assumes he finds a Colorado state House member to introduce such a resolution – and if he works on it, he can probably get someone like Bottoms or de Graff to do it – he needs to get 33 votes in the House. The GOP only has 19 members so they will need to persuade at least 14 Democrats to support this. That's a big haul.

Third, and this assumes that he finds a Colorado state House member to introduce his resolution and they persuade at least 14 Democrats to support impeachment, then there will be a trial in the Senate which will require a two-thirds majority to convict and remove. That means they need at least 24 Senators to vote to convict. But there are only 12 Republican Senators which leans they would need to persuade at least 12 of the 23 Democratic Senators to support conviction. An even bigger haul.

Trent, here's a thought. Why not wait until each justice is up for a retention vote and then organize that "yuge and bigley" public outcry against them into "No" votes when the retention issue is on the ballot?

      1. It'll be interesting to see what happens come retention.  But looking at the four justices in the majority, Justice Hart is not up for retention until 2030.  Justice Hood is up in 2026, but he might be ready to leave the judiciary at that time, as he's been a judge since 2007 (Denver District Judge until 2014 elevation).  Justice Gabriel isn't up until 2028.  Justice Márquez is the only up for retention in 2024, and she isn't going to be stepping down as she is set to be the next Chief Justice after Boatright ends his CJ term.  I suspect there will be an organized campaign against her, but I hope the bar and the public will counter that.  As for Trent Leisy, what a clown car his campaign will be.

        1. What Justice Marquez and her three colleagues have going for them is the fact that the average MAGAdonian has the attention span of a mosquito. By next year, they will be on to some newer grievances and forget all about this.

      2. I had hoped that Trent would take a more measured approach with the campaign but it looks like that isn’t going to happen.  He’s a good kid but I’m afraid he’s been sold a bill of goods from a lot of people up the Magadonian food chain.  #ETTD

    1. Leisy will need to try much, much harder if he expects to intimidate the four justices. His planned project on the 30th brings to mind the Marx Brothers: Groucho, Chico, Harpo, Zeppo, Karl.

      1. I searched for a hot minute for the picture of the yahoo’s from Pueblo (IIRC?) who showed up with their near-empty boxes of petition signatures to recall Jared (as well as the clowns who capsized their boats at the #BatlleofLakeTravis).  Couldn’t find it the first mention, but maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll be the ones in charge of organizing the troops from the southern flank.  That would be entertaining.  #OneifbyLandTwoifbySea

  3. Announced as Johnstown to Colorado Springs …

He doesn't lay out the route, but wouldn't it make sense to make a round-trip route and have the drive go east further into District 4??

    1. "Body odor with a scented makeup product," says Kathy Griffin.

I would have guessed he would have smelled of McDonald's onion ring farts and Russian hooker urine.
