Colorado’s sophomore maven of misadventure Rep. Lauren Boebert’s campaign for re-election announced the addition of a new team member on Monday, whatever it takes to keep at least 546 votes to the good from early retirement:

We’re suckers for a cute kitten like anyone else, but much like the goat Boebert made “friends” with a couple of years ago, we’re concerned this may not be a consensual relationship:

Our theory is that photo of Boebert as Cruella DeVil must circulate widely in the animal kingdom.

Either that, or the animals…just know.

  1. Who’s going to tell her?

Sinatra was one of the more progressive voices of “The Greatest Generation.” He is notably remembered for helping to integrate Las Vegas when he sang there with the Count Basie Band. Quincy Jones has attested to Frank’s insistence that the Black musicans be treated as equals and there were several instances where he refused to work if that wasn’t the case . He also helped mainstream the Blues and foster the interpretive singing styles of Ella and Billy and one of his best friends and fellow Rat-packer, Sammy Davis Jr. He fought anti-semitism and was a staunch supporter of Israel during its war for independence.

Frank Sinatra had many flaws as we all do, but he was inclusive and passionate about his fellow man.

InThe Film Short “The House I live In” Frank best expresses how he felt about bigotry. You can watch it on YouTube.

    1. This short film, which earned an honorary Academy Award for director Mervyn LeRoy in 1946, exhorts the message of religious tolerance and post-war hopefulness. Frank Sinatra, then the idol of teenage bobby-soxers, takes a break from a recording session and finds a group of children bullying one boy because he's Jewish. Sinatra reminds them that Americans may worship in many different ways but they still remain Americans. The film ends with Sinatra performing the title song, penned by Abel Meeropol, best known for the song "Strange Fruit" which denounced the horror of lynchings. Named to the National Film Registry in 2007.

  2. Two of the most destructive and utterly useless critters the good lord ever put on this planet, . . .

. . . but at least the blue-eyed one could make a meal fit for a coyote.
