    1. Good morning , you pathetic dipshit.

That you consider this site "useless" is high praise for the site and its users.

      Thanks for the complement.

  1. If you do not hate the Oily Boyz…you should. They are almost entirely responsible for the high prices we are all paying for EVERYTHING!

The price of oil, artificially increased by the industry, cannot be sustained. As it decreases, the price of gasoline has not. Intentionally.

The OilyBoyz are lining their pockets. trying to recoup their losses from the "shale boom", when they flooded the market with oil. So much so, they ran out of places to store it.

Make no mistake. The reason you are paying $5.00 for a gallon of gasoline is simple. You are being fleeced by the Oily Boyz.

There is no shortage of oil. In Colorado, the industry is sitting on 3,000 permits. If it pisses you off…buy an electric car as soon as you can.

    1. Thank you for telling us who to hate! With all your economic expertise we might not have made the connection. Much appreciated that you told us we didn’t have to pay the inflation tax if we didn’t want to. How’s Econ 101 going?

        1. The fun part is when the sock-puppets start arguing with each other. And then, he forgets which sock-puppet is supposed to have which side of the argument.

        2. Astute readers will note, NONE of the myriad sockpuppets employed by our brain dead truck driver have said a word about my point….the price of gasoline is a DIRECT result of price fixing by the big five OilyCorps. Not President Biden..not a short supply…not regulations…none of that.

Greedy OilyBoyz are picking your pocket. They do that whenever they can.

  2. So what is the Colorado delegation doing to help Ukraine? Jason Crowe – a lot. Michael Bennet – a start. Ken Buck – a start on anti-trust. The rest? Nothing.

In time of war each of our CongressPeople should be stepping up in some form, some way, on the issue of the war. Yes they have other areas of focus too but they should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

For those looking for something to do, might I suggest one of the following:

    • Figure out what we will do with sanctions once the war ends. We need to keep Russia down as otherwise they'll rebuild and invade someone else.
    • Put together a plan for quickly transitioning to alternative energy sources. And that must include Nuclear as well as appropriate short term oil & gas increases. (This will be similar to a transition to renewables, but in a more politically acceptable package.)
    • Implement worldwide financial transparency. Show where the Russian government & oligarchs are hiding their money. And how much. (This will also help unearth a lot of tax cheats.)
    • Insure manufacturing can keep up with the needs of Ukraine and the Western militaries. We're starting to run out.
    • Figure out how to address our supply chain problems. We need multiple sources from multiple countries for everything. And that means eliminating monopolies (government policy for the last 40 years has encouraged monopolies).
    • Figure out how to legally force Facebook to change their recommendation engine so it takes people in positive directions instead of down the rabbit hole of hate & fear. And maybe the same thing for broadcast news.

We are in a time of big problems, and big opportunities. We need representatives in Congress who will step up to solve these problems.

  3. Ukraine update:

    • Good news – it looks like most of the people in the Mariupol art center that was bombed survived.
    • Expanding Russia's problems – Moldova says it wants Russia out of Transnistria now. This would give Russia an additional military problem when it's already extended to the breaking point.
      • And what if Georgia does the same?
      • We should consider providing weapons to Moldova & Georgia.
    • Ukraine is kicking Russia's ass in places.
    • More weapons to Ukraine.
    • Russia's advance is still stuck with no relief in sight.
    • Biden called Putin a War Criminal. This matters a lot.

The U.S. needs to open up for Ukrainian refugees. A lot, like 1/2 million. And do it now.

Also, no idea if it's doable. But what if we could give Ukraine 1 long range cruise missile that could make it to Putin's Palace. Give him a taste of what he's done to Ukraine.

    1. Again from TPM. (Everyone should be a Talking Points Memo subscriber. They are committing Actual Journalism. Josh Marshal is a History (all-but) PhD, which always struck me as the best background for being a journalist.)

U.S. intelligence officials estimate that the death toll for Russian troops in Ukraine has climbed to more than 7,000 since the invasion began.

      • That’s higher than the U.S. troop death toll over 20 years in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.
      • About 14,000 to 21,000 Russian troops have been injured, according to the intelligence officials.
      • At least three Russian generals have died in the fighting.
  4. From the WTF Files at TPM: "State Rep Who Wrote Genocide Plan for Libs Shows Up in Poland with Ukrainian Kids He Wants to Give to American Families"

    "Yep. Crazy as it sounds."

Back about four years ago a state legislator from Washington State got in trouble for writing a plan for the mass killing of liberals in order to usher in a theocracy in the United States. He got booted out of Washington electoral politics for being involved with “domestic terrorism.” So, kind of a problem. Here’s one of our many pieces on disgraced former Rep. Matt Shea from 2018. So this week he showed up in Poland with a few dozen alleged orphans from the besieged city of Mariupol in Ukraine which he planned to bring to America to give away for adoption to American families.

Pretty quickly the situation aroused suspicion in Poland because Shea and his associates were very cagey about just where they’d gotten the children, what they were doing with them, even who Shea and his friends were. They gave local authorities contradictory stories and basically told them it wasn’t any of their business. The minor mystery went viral in Poland. Because … well, what the F is this guy doing and where did he get these kids and what is he doing with them?

    1. From there, it gets weird…

Despite being registered in Florida, where Sipko apparently recently purchased a home, the enterprise seems to have grown out of the Ukrainian-American immigrant community in Spokane, Washington, the home of Shea’s former legislative district. Shea’s wife is Ukrainian and that seems to be the origin of his connection with that community. But Shea is also connected to far-right Polish Youtuber named Pawel Chojecki who is associated with various fascist groups in Poland. Chojecki is an interesting character in himself (he’s been working with Shea since 2018) since he’s viciously anti-Catholic — which is a fairly new twist on being a right-wing extremist since Poland is almost universally Catholic (Dmowski over Pilsudski, as we discussed here).

In addition to the fascism thing, Chojecki is the leader of a tiny evangelical protestant sect which appears to include him, his family, a small number of followers, various real estate holdings

  5. I think it's called "Casing the Joint" (TPM again):

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KA) showed the truckers of the “People’s Convoy” around the Capitol, where Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KA) took photos with them in his office last week on March 9, the Kansas City Star reported yesterday.

  6. From CNN:

The US House just passed a bill that suspends normal trade relations with Russia and Belarus — the latest effort by US lawmakers to inflict economic pain on Russia for its unprovoked and brutal invasion of Ukraine

The final vote was 424-8 with strong bipartisan support for the legislation, which will next head to the Senate.

Republicans Chip Roy of Texas, Tom Massie of Kentucky, Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Matt Gaetz of Florida, Dan Bishop of North Carolina, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, and Glenn Grothman of Wisconsin voted against the bill.

    1. As for the Chechen contribution… Galeev says:

Chechnya is a vassal kingdom of Kadyrov in personal union with Russia. It's not an integral part of Russia and its troops are not part of Russian army.Chechen conscript don't go to Russian army, they go to its "Chechen regiments" which are led by and personally loyal to Kadyrov
