Reminds me of my family and the state GOP, not necessarily in that order.
When I counted the elected officials that have publicly sided with Harvey, there were approximately 25. (I am not counting Ken Buck and the like because I don’t know if he gets a vote or not).
Based on Jason Salzman’s earlier post, to be elected chair of the gop, one needs 151, half of 300 (THIS IS SPARTA! – sorry, got confused for a moment)
90 GOP elected officials
+ 192 Republican Country Party representatives
+ 18 bonus delegates
= 300.
So if I did the math right and the numbers are generally accurate, it looks like Harvey is (publicly) about 16% of the way there. Hmmm, now I’m curious what public numbers the other candidates have posted.
Am I right on this, wrong?
I just did a quick facebook search and Ryan Call has a Facebook page but no endorsements up.
Matt Arnold’s facebook page also did not have any endorsements up.
It makes me wonder how many they have secured yet. More important than endorsements, how many voting members do they have backing them?

Ok then, it sounds like the entire list mentioned above are voting members. So that would put him at 30 voting members out of 151 needed to win, so he is about 20% the way there. Interesting.
You have to wonder at the fact that the others haven’t posted endorsements. Makes me wonder if they are doing well.
Plus, unless I am wrong, Harvey also gets a vote so it puts him at 31.
I.e., how right is he?
Is a teaparty guy?
Is he a Tancreo-ish guy?
Is he Owens-ish?
He’s so far right that in his ideal world RINO’s are extinct. He’s Tancredo-ish and I suspect a Teaparty sympathizer. Harvey is no Owens by any stretch.

but will this leave Harvey as the Hillary Clinton of the GOP chair race? My understanding is that the largest chunk of votes comes from county party officials. Are they keeping mum for now, or has Steve not managed to get any commitments yet?
If it weren’t for the lack of endorsements elsewhere, this wouldn’t be that great a showing. Buck but not Suthers? Gessler but not Stapleton? This is not going to be won on the first ballot and there will be hurt feelings on one side or the other.
Here’s hoping the existing splits in the party continue long enough to get some fixes to state revenues passed.
