Unexpected and sad news yesterday from the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition:
It is with a heavy heart that the staff and board of CCJRC bid a tearful and unexpected farewell to a tireless and passionate human rights advocate. Dan Shoen passed away last night, leaving behind his wife Debora Shoen and daughter, Annabelle. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family, as well as his fellow advocates at the Colorado Criminal Bar Association, where Dan served as the Executive Director. Dan’s experience and wisdom will be sorely missed and we hope that each of you who knew him will look for a way to practice an act of altruism in memory of his deep commitment to rights of all Coloradans.
As some readers already know, Dan Schoen was also a longtime member of the Colorado Pols community, and a former front-page editor. We greatly appreciated the insightful content he shared with us, and we're saddened to learn of his unexpected passing.
