Don't Worry, Scott Bottoms is Winning the GOP Gubernatorial Nomination!

Starting and ending at the Bottoms

We only have another week to bask in the hallucinations of State Rep. Scott “Rock” Bottoms (R-Colo. Springs), who is constantly on the lookout for evidence that he will be the Republican nominee for Governor in 2026 (Spoiler Alert: He won’t).

Bottoms will undoubtedly continue the new Republican tradition of statewide candidates winning top line on the ballot at the State GOP assembly and then failing to get anywhere close to winning the actual Primary Election. But Bottoms is winning the contests that really matter: “straw poles” conducted at various small Republican Party gatherings and online polls conducted on social media.

To wit, here’s what Bottoms posted on ‘X’ on Monday:

The word “commissioned” doesn’t mean what Bottoms thinks it means (nor, frankly, does the phrase “independent polls”). When someone “commissions” a poll, it refers to a campaign or organization paying a legitimate company to conduct a statistically-valid survey. What it does not mean is that someone posted a poll on ‘X.’ Here are the “independent polls” that Bottoms is so excited about:

It goes without saying that any scientifically-valid survey will also include a question about support for a “World Ending Meteor” on the ballot.

Anyway, here’s one more poll for Bottoms to get excited about:

Will Scott Bottoms be the Republican Nominee for Governor?

Bottoms won’t even be able to claim voter fraud on this poll!

You’re welcome, Scott.
