"Boebert Bought Off?" A Startling Accusation From MAGA World

Reps. Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz (R).

The eight Republican members of Congress who voted to oust House Speaker Kevin McCarthy led by Rep. Matt “Giggity” Gaetz and including Colorado’s Rep. Ken Buck did not include Colorado’s by-far most cantankerous Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert, despite Boebert’s fight to the fifteenth ballot at Gaetz’s side to stop McCarthy from becoming speaker and even once characterizing McCarthy as a “demon” it was her ordained responsibility to stand up to.

Boebert’s vote of “no…for now” to keep McCarthy could easily be written off as a typical example of Boebert’s aimless bravado, and surprising no one, after the vote against McCarthy prevailed Boebert was quick to spin McCarthy’s ouster as her desired outcome from the beginning:

Pretty nervy to talk this way about something Boebert just voted against, isn’t it? It bears a strong similarity to Boebert’s well-documented habit of taking credit for federal funding for her district that she voted against. Once again, no points are awarded when you voted the wrong way on a good thing, and attempting to take credit after the fact for funds you opposed is one of those things voters hate right up there with public indecency.

But what if that’s not the whole story? Far-right MAGA world agitatrix Laura Loomer, a former employee of the infamous Project Veritas whose exploits include persuading a group of migrants to camp on Nancy Pelosi’s lawn and is known in particular for anti-Muslim hate speech, slammed Boebert yesterday for, Loomer’s words, “trying to gaslight all of you into thinking that she wanted to hold Kevin McCarthy accountable.”

I have examined FEC records that show McCarthy gave her $95,788.50 in March, two months after Boebert voted against him. And then 3 months later in June 2023, McCarthy gave Boebert another $31,327.63

I’m told these funds were given to Boebert by McCarthy’s Protect the House 2024 fund under the condition that she never support a motion to vacate against McCarthy.

I am also in communication with some of her associates who have provided me with evidence of more shady campaign finance activity she’s engaged in.

Lauren Boebert doesn’t want you to know that she was paid off by Kevin McCarthy to do a 180 on her position.

She went from demanding concessions in January and putting on a show with [Matt Gaetz] during the January Speaker vote, to folding like a cheap suit after McCarthy gave her nearly $130,000 for her 2024 re-election.

The usual admonishment to consider the source applies, but the receipts don’t lie: Lauren Boebert transformed from one of McCarthy’s most indefatigable critics in January into a vote to retain McCarthy as speaker in October–and in that time, McCarthy gave Boebert’s campaign a six-figure cash injection. It’s no secret that Boebert’s vulnerability after holding her seat in 2022 by 546 votes is also impacting her fundraising, and we had long wondered if Boebert’s relentless biting of her feeding hands would come back to haunt her.

Well folks, it’s a plausible scenario McCarthy simply purchased Boebert’s cooperation after he became speaker instead of cutting her off. If McCarthy had survived Tuesday’s vote to vacate his speakership, Boebert would have certainly benefitted politically from being on the right side. Instead, Boebert appears to have quite literally cashed in her integrity, leaving her open to criticism from her right flank with nothing to show for it now that McCarthy is a footnote in the history books.

Will a broadside from Laura Loomer end Boebert’s career by itself? Probably not. But along with Republicans now finding it safe to publicly criticize Boebert on her home turf, this is another sign of what should be the core of Boebert’s base melting away. The MAGA diehards who have Lauren Boebert and Laura Loomer in common as influencers are voters Boebert absolutely cannot afford to lose.

When you lose your closest friends, it’s all over.

  1. Reading Loomer's release offers even more:

    Laura Loomer

    @LauraLoomer

    EXCLUSIVE:

…Now, after voting against the motion to vacate yesterday, Lauren Boebert is trying to gaslight all of you into thinking that she wanted to hold Kevin McCarthy accountable.

She’s bought and paid for. And when you combine this, along with her getting caught jerking off her Democrat boy toy at the theatre in September, and then lying about why she was kicked out after she was caught on camera vaping inside the theatre next to a PREGNANT WOMAN, I predict Lauren Boebert is going to have a hard time getting re-elected.

She will most definitely be primaried. The American people deserve representatives who won’t sell their constituents out for $130,000.

Talk about a cheap date! By DC standards at least…

    Receipts 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

I gotta say … I like reading items of intra-party disputes that go beyond the usual polite discussion of policies.  More evidence that REPUBLICANS ARE REVOLTING
