Those were the years that changed what I would do with the rest of my professional life.
But definitely fits the theme.
Just a little early morning performance art from the folks in P-Funk. Because the bigger the headache, the bigger the pill.
I woke up this mornin’ (the start of many a great tune) with this first song in my head . . . flashbacks can be your friend.
Long live . . .
Bit in keeping with the civil disobedience theme…
(Whaddayu know? I just agree with Ralphie on something.)
for totally shameless, and completely entertaining, marketing.
” . . . it’s an internet thing . . .”
a sense of enterprise is here
the attitudes that conquer fear
stability, togtherness
the feeling cannot be supressed
hand in hand we had our say
united we stand but so did they
hands in handcuffs dragged away
to cheers of hate and victory!
chorus:
we fought the city but no-one cared
they passed it off as just a game
the city won’t stop til attitudes change
rats in the cellars of the stock exchange
co-ordination was not so good
but everyone did just what they could
unarmed with inexperience
we had to use our common sense
if you act like rats you get treated like this
said a policeman like we didn’t exist
when the force of law has lost it’s head
the law of force is what you get
chorus
we fought their calculations
money gained from thrid world nations
all that money spent on war
could be used to feed their poor
the papers played the whole thing down
said there was nothing to worry about
the rats have all gone underground
but we’l be back again next time round
I don’t think there are any Russians
And there ain’t no Yanks
Just corporate criminals
playin’ with tanks
My favorite, which is probably the only song anybody over 35 remembers by them, is this one.
On my top 25 played list on my ITunes.
The ‘Lost Boys’ version rocks too.
Oh, that’s weird but in a good way.
Fuck, I forgot all about this one. I have, once again, underestimated your awesomeness.
I pretty much managed to save all our trees this morning, although I’m thoroughly soaked and remembering well what cold numbness feels like. It takes so long to get any tree to establish around here, I absolutely hate to see them getting torn down.
Inside for the day now, I guess . . . so from the great white north, a little entertainment:
And, for all you Yankee fans (tee hee . . . ) . . .
