        1. Need to have 25% of 1,722,096 = 431,000 signatures validated.  Which probably means 750,000 signatures collected.  Won’t happen just as a hobby 🙂

          From the Colorado Constitution: http://www.michie.com/colorado

          A petition signed by registered electors entitled to vote for a successor of the incumbent sought to be recalled, equal in number to twenty-five percent of the entire vote cast at the last preceding election for all candidates for the position which the incumbent sought to be recalled occupies, demanding an election of the successor to the officer named in said petition, shall be filed in the office in which petitions for nominations to office held by the incumbent sought to be recalled are required to be filed;

          1. You have only 60 days to get the signatures:

            CRS 1-12-108(1):

            (1) The petition shall be prepared and circulated pursuant to this part 1. No signature shall be counted that was placed on a petition prior to approval of the petition by the designated election official or more than sixty days after the designated election official’s approval of the petition.

            Good luck, Ellie and Gray.  It’s damned near impossible to recall a state official.

            1. would be to drive down turn-out so that 25% of the winning candidate’s vote was about a fourth of what it is in Gessler’s case. You can complain about Gessler’s tone deafness, but you’ve got to give him credit for making it easier to recall statewide officials, in his own way.

  1. Republicans Decrying ‘Job Killing’ Green Energy Agenda Have Sought Green Jobs For Their Own Districts

    at least ten Republicans on the panel have signed letters seeking to land green energy jobs in their districts.

    In dozens of letters obtained by The Huffington Post, the lawmakers, led by Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), argue convincingly about Department of Energy funding going to their favored projects, often touting the job-creating potential of numerous endeavors.

    1. The only question with peak oil is not if, it’s when.

      And then there’s teh notion that oil can be used for so many things: plastics, fertilizer, etc. Why on earth would you take this amazing resource and just burn it, when there are so many alternative sources of energy?

      1. only if God wants it to be.

        See, back when Jesus was riding dinosaurs, God decided that we would want cheap liquid fuels some day.  Not then- but eventually.

        And when the whale oil got expensive (Jonah’s Revenge!) and Otto von Benz invented (discovered?)  internal combustion, God gave us the oil fields of Pennsylvania and then Texas. And everywhere else.

        Whenever God is done punishing the USA for gays and adulterers and unwed moms without AIDS and everything – you’ll see our oil supplies come back.

        Or maybe God is telling us we should invest in solar and algae and other stuff.

        Either way, you can be sure that “peak oil”, just like human affected climate change, progressive politics, and the LA Clippers – is false.
