I sent it to my granddaughter who has developed a real interest in foreign languages and their music videos.
Tell her to search for Eurovision on YouTube – that’s the annual European music contest. Finals coming in May (the same day as CSU’s graduation)!
That said, this is much better.
Diana DeGette is sure smiling. 11 plans 6 from Democrats and 5 from Republicans. All 11 give her a safe district. Ten more years in Congress for Diana.
Chris Romer is sure frowning. New poll from respected Survey USA shows that not only is he not the favorite he is even money to not make the runoff.
I must say some of the ads are confusing. Are Mejia, Hancock and Romer running for School Board or Mayor? The Mayor has nothing to do with school management unless they are proposing a city hall takeover of DPS?
of your scoop!
http://www.kdvr.com/news/polit…
As one of the most important factor in creating jobs, yes, mayors should be concerned with schools. As I’ve already pointed out, having at least a broad look at how the candidates lean will make a difference with voters and should. Our school board doesn’t need the Mayor’s support, but it helps.
Think I’m wrong? Research Bennet, Sen. Michael.
Sometimes there’s a lot of politics in political jobs.
Love her or hate her or somewhere in between we have Diana DeGette for another decade in Congress.
The Mayor’s race is hotter than a firecracker. No one and I mean no one expected a race this close. For the first time since 1995 there may be a competitive runoff for Mayor.
Seriously? Yes. Good speech anyway? Yup.
Now he’s explained everything and wants us to stop being so mean:
So he wasn’t intentionally lying when he said 90% instead of the factual 3%. Something just went wrong, totally unintentional glitch of some kind. And that bit about not meaning it to be factual? That was his peon (look for him under the bus) not him. So nothing here to make fun of. Nothing at all. Stop it. Sen. Kyl is definitely not a pathetic unintentionally hilarious, lying backstabber. Do I still hear titters? Cut it out! Come on, that was definitely a guffaw. No fair.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…
named, “Rollie”?
My how times have changed.
I tend to give them a little slack. BUT Kyl was reading from prepared remarks.
Lying sack-o-shit.
off the cuff shouldn’t include a firmly stated statistic. It’s not as if he said “most” which could be chalked up to just not being informed and making an assumption. He said 90%. Where did he get that stat? If he checked then he knew it was a lie. If he didn’t check, presenting a stat as if it’s, you know, factual is, at the very least, lying about having knowledge of a legit stat. He even said something to the effect that nobody goes to PP to get cholesterol checked when, in fact, people do.
The truth that Kyl and friends don’t like to call too much attention to is that they know PP provides many times more birth control then abortions and they, for some inexplicable reason, are against low income families having access to birth control. They clearly use it themselves, judging from the sizes of their families. Rhythm method just isn’t that reliable.
Marilyn Davenport, an Orange County Republican Party official and tea party activist is enraged over the “fuss” being made over her email.
An email she sent to fellow Republican Party officials and is now denouncing and demanding the “coward” that leaked it to come forward.
An email which included a family-style photo of 3 apes with Obama’s picture superimposed over one and the caption “Now you know why- no birth certificate! [sic].”
I refuse to post the picture. You can view it here. http://static01.mediaite.com/m…
Same Orange County Republican Party that thought it was just good clean fun to send an email which included an illustration of the White House covered in watermelons.
The same Orange County Republican Party that thought it was high brow humor to oppose “the installation of grass near beaches on the point that “grass attracts Mexicans.”
she doesn’t speak for the GO(T)P.
The Cubs, however are going all the way this year.
Because your entire comment is filled with non facty bullshit, especially that last part about the Cubs. Did you see St. Louis moved into 3rd place? This season just sucks so far. The Cubs have as much of a chance of going all the way this season as I have of becoming a billionaire.
I don’t remember who suggested the word, but we should be using it.
Not that you should refact that Cubs bit. I have doubts your billionaire status is that far out of reach.
The cellar?
Rockies rule!
in yesterday’s open thread.
That’s about it. History is written by the victors, though.

I’m not sure how my fav is in a “strong” position. He’s dropping like a rock on a stone in the ocean. Tied from a clear front runner? (Seriously, Hughes?)
Oh noes. Woe is me.
He’s still 4 points above Hancock but it looks like a lot of his support was awfully soft.
Hancock, Mejia and Romer are tied within the margin of error.
It’s terrible for Romer because his support hasn’t budged since almost a month ago when the RBI poll was taken, and he’s spent a TON of money making nothing happen.
More of his support than for the other candidates is in his corner because he’s had that air of invincibility. Now he doesn’t.
This is a catastrophe for Romer, even if he does have more money and still is a better bet than either of the other two to make the run-off.
he’s feeling the pressure apparently. His forum performances are becoming shrill-“We need to have a conversation”-fests.
I feel bad watching my guy fall apart and certainly hope he doesn’t jump over the table to attack the moderator at any of these.
your support appears invaluable to the Romer effort; exactly what he needs more of in this dark hour.
Your perseverance will be rewarded.
Shows he was coasting on name rec and now that people have tuned in that advantage has disappeared.
April, “the sexiest month of the year”. That sweet phrase comes from this wonderful article:
http://www.organicconsumers.or…
For me, the article points to what is fundamentally an education challenge.
Thoughts?
first, Barbara Kingsolver is the real deal. And she can write. Highly reccommend you read everything she’s published- esp the non-fiction and the early fiction.
As for frankenfood- of course the corporations will kill us. In Terminator and like minded movies it’s the robots and the techno-death squads. But you know we’re going to do it to ourselves.
You know how you can tell? When Monsanto claims a patent on a seed they “designed” that only works with their proprietary fertilzer, that they “license” to farmers and can enforce the patent and license terms on the neighboring farms when the seeds propagate on the winds and wings even though the neighboring farms consider the invasive seeds pests.
It’s April – plant something. Or tend the plants from last fall. Don’t forget the vino.
the filthy, non-humane conditions that produce meat in this country (turned me into a vegetarian), but also the disasters of corporate farming such as Monsanto’s death grip on some crops.
And Barbara Kingsolver – excellent writer.
Spring has riz,
the grass has sprung.
My weekend’s now spent,
having no fun.
