Aurora Sentinel: Sen. Williams Involved In Fatal Car Crash

TUESDAY POLS UPDATE: This statement from Sen. Suzanne Williams was released today:

“I cannot express the horror, sadness and grief I feel for an accident that will change forever the lives of a young family. It is a burden I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”

Sad news: The Aurora Sentinel’s Sara Castellanos is reporting that Sen. Suzanne Williams was involved in an automobile accident Sunday in Texas that killed a passenger, a pregnant mother, in the other vehicle.

The passenger’s baby was delivered and is reported in critical condition.

State Sen. Suzanne Williams, D-Aurora, was involved in a serious car accident Sunday evening in Hartley County, Texas, which resulted in one fatality. Williams, 65, who was involved in a head-on car collision, was treated and released as of late Monday, and was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Brianna Michelle Gomez, 30, a passenger of the GMC that Williams crashed into, is deceased, and was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
