Friday Jams Fest

  • by: Middle of the Road

Is it just me or was this a very long week? I need to decompress–feel free to join me.

I had the amazing opportunity to see this group in a small auditorium at my university. I had chills up my spine for two and a half hours straight. Enjoy.

          1. This is an important issue, I just want to make sure poor folks and middle income folks who are turned down by banks have access to emergency loans…

              1. They have hired liberals to mouth their talking points as well as their traditional anti working people conservative lobbyists.

I suspect DM is a left leaning contract lobbyist who is feeding at the payday lending feedbag.  Her (his) soul may require her (him) to create excuses why these payday lending Visigoths shouldn’t have curbs placed on them, but in her (his) heart of hearts she (he) knows it’s a lie.

                1. Nice work WST and DG, you’ve truly added some great commentary today. Very productive.

I really don’t care to continue the payday conversation with all of the vital issues of our time this really doesn’t register on my radar for or against.

That said, if 6% or even 30% interest was a profitable business model for high risk borrowers then why don’t the banks enter the market? Just saying. As I know for a fact, due to new regulations, banks are struggling and will make money any way possible. I would be interested to hear from a banker on this issue instead of quixotic political pundits. Anyways, that’s all I’ll say about that…

        1. But the Friday Jams thread is about music.

(And this is not aimed strictly at Danny.  I just replied to his post to get below the others)

If you want to fight about Payday Loans, I’m all for it.  Just do it in the Open Thread.

  1. When this album came out, I always assumed it was about Beirut & Middle East. Re-watching it  now, I wonder if they got it right back in the 80’s about fearing your government….

    1. And I’m becoming increasingly concerned about where that bill is headed. Heard on NPR today that medical marijuana advocates are talking about getting something on the ballot because the bill is terrible.
