Tom Massie Dishes On Trump Pressuring Lauren Boebert

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky is one of President Donald Trump’s staunchest critics, and the member of Congress considered principally responsible for forcing the release of the files from the investigation into deceased billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein over Trump’s suspiciously strained objections. On account of his disloyalty to the Dear Leader, Massie faces a tough primary challenge later this month–considered even more dire after primary elections in neighboring Indiana this week saw the ouster of multiple incumbent state senators Trump had similarly sworn revenge against.

Speaking with another Trump dissident conservative Tucker Carlson in an interview released Wednesday, reported by the Daily Beast, Rep. Massie discussed what it’s like to be in the MAGA doghouse, in the process connecting the dots from the pressure on Colorado’s Rep. Lauren Boebert by the Trump administration in their unsuccessful attempt to peel her off of the Epstein files discharge petition to Trump’s veto in December of the Arkansas Valley Conduit water project funds:

“Lauren Boebert, they took her over to the Situation Room,” Massie said. “Like, this is where if they are trying to kill or capture Osama bin Laden, this is where they are at the White House.”

“They took her into the Situation Room and tried to whip her into taking her name off of the discharge petition,” he continued.

“Over Epstein?” host Tucker Carlson asked.

“Over Epstein, yep, and then the president vetoed a bill that would’ve brought water to a large portion of Colorado. Over Epstein. And this isn’t even, at this point it’s not just about Lauren Boebert,” Massie responded.

“Why are people in Colorado deprived of water because their representative wants to expose a sex trafficking ring?” he questioned.

It’s not new information for those of us who have been following the story closely, but Massie spells out the retaliatory link between Boebert’s refusal to cave on the Epstein files and the veto of the unanimously-passed Arkansas Valley Conduit funding more explicitly than Boebert herself ever has. It’s worth noting that Trump has not even so much as publicly called out Boebert despite her “very hostile act” of disloyalty over Epstein, while freely attacking other Colorado Republicans like Jeff Hurd when it suited him.

Boebert doesn’t want to be disowned by Trump like Massie and other Republicans who have defied Trump’s will. But as we reported late last month, Boebert continues to be a major thorn in the side of Republicans on the House Oversight Committee who are doing everything they can to sideline the Epstein investigation, and spare ousted former Attorney General Pam Bondi the indignity of explaining her conduct related to the case. With no primary challenger, the risk for Boebert in being disowned by Trump lies in the loss of general election support–and with the math for Republicans to keep the U.S. House looking bleaker with every special election preview, that could be the biggest factor keeping Boebert safe from Trump’s Truth Social wrath.

Then again, Trump did endorse Hope Scheppelman. Which is proof he’s not always…you know, thinking.
