UPDATE: The Melania mystery continues as not even FOX News knows what’s going on:

—–
Because we weren’t. But as NBC News reports, somebody must be:
In a rare public statement, first lady Melania Trump on Thursday said she “never had a relationship” with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein or his accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell…
It was the first time she had spoken about the Epstein controversy on camera. It’s unclear what prompted her to make these remarks now, but her staff has been aggressive at knocking down what they call “defamatory” Epstein rumors.
They come after the Justice Department told the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday that former Attorney General Pam Bondi will not comply with a subpoena to provide testimony next week before the panel.
“The false smears about me from mean-spirited and politically motivated individuals and entities looking to cause damage to my good name to gain financially and climb politically must stop,” she said.
First Lady Melania Trump concluded with a call for Congress to allow victims of deceased billionaire pedophile and former friend of the Trumps Jeffrey Epstein to tell their story publicly, to which no one we’re aware of has objected to excepting President Trump himself. We’re not sure how the First Lady’s call for more Epstein testimony comports with the President’s dismissal of the whole affair as the “Epstein hoax,” but maybe that’s why…she doesn’t live in the White House?
At the very least, the First Lady has given Rep. Lauren Boebert reason with this interjection to keep right on defying Trump. If fellow Republicans like Rep. Jeff Crank who represents the family of an Epstein victims had a working moral compass–or at this point, a sense of expedient politics–they’d come off the back bench and join her.
And yes, if there is some godawful document dump imminent, you’ve been psychologically prepped.
