Rep. Lauren Boebert, Cyberbully

  •
  • by: Colorado Pols

FRIDAY UPDATE: The Denver Post’s Justin Wingerter:

The congresswoman was apparently referencing a video posted earlier this week that shows now-U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, badgering Hogg about gun control on the streets of Washington, D.C., in 2019. Greene is a conspiracy theorist who reportedly believed the Parkland shooting and the 2017 Las Vegas shootings were fake…

“In my experience, those who haven’t experienced the trauma of mass shootings usually talk the toughest,” tweeted U.S. Rep. Jason Crow, an Aurora Democrat and gun control advocate who often criticizes Boebert online and on-air. “But the tough talk and bullying of survivors is the ultimate sign of weakness.”

UPDATE: David Hogg responds to Rep. Lauren Boebert’s Twitter taunt:

Ha- funny enough last I checked I wasn’t the Congresswomen trying to bully a college student on twitter.

I’ll say the same thing to you I said about your evil twin- if you shoot me you prove my point. [Pols emphasis]

Don’t call him a “child” again, this guy David Hogg has guts.

Marjorie Taylor Greene harassing Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg.

This is Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado responding to David Hogg, survivor of a 2018 mass school shooting at a public high school in Parkland, Florida. Boebert is referring to recently-resurfaced video of now fellow freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene accosting David Hogg outside the Capitol, as CNN reported yesterday:

In the video from March 2019, Greene follows Hogg as he walks toward the US Capitol. She can be heard making false and baseless claims as she asks him a series of questions related to gun rights and how he was able to meet with senators. Hogg continues to walk without addressing Greene.

“He’s a coward,” Greene says at the end of the video as Hogg walks away, claiming his activism was funded by billionaire philanthropist George Soros, who is often the subject of far-right conspiracy theories, and other liberals. “He can’t say one word because he can’t defend his stance.”

Greene — who has previously called Hogg “#littleHitler” — said in a written statement to CNN that the video was taken while she was in Washington, “going from office to office in the Senate to oppose the radical gun control agenda that David Hogg was pushing.”

Rep. Greene, who is facing a motion to expel her from Congress supported by Rep. Jason Crow, has suggested that the shooting in 2018 at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida was faked some way along with the 2013 school shooting at Newtown, Connecticut. This may be the first time that Boebert has directly referred to Greene’s pre-congressional fringe activism, and it’s evident from this Boebert approves of Greene harassing the teenage survivor of a mass school shooting Greene not coincidentally thinks was staged.

It’s outrageous, even in an outrage fatigued world. If and when the time comes that Rep. Boebert tries to put daylight between herself and her only competition for the title of greatest calamity of the House Republican Class of 2020, remember the day she joined Marjorie Taylor Greene in the bullying of David Hogg.

Also, David Hogg is 20. Which of these two young adults deserves to be called a child on the merits here?
