League of Conservation Voters Endorses US Senator Michael Bennet

  •
  • by: peacemonger

(One of the best endorsements Bennet has received, in my opinion. – promoted by Middle of the Road)

While accepting the endorsement, Senator Bennet once again uses the words, “moral obligation” as he did when speaking of health insurance reform:

“I’m proud to accept this endorsement from the League of Conservation Voters.  LCV, and their Colorado affiliate Colorado Conservation Voters, have worked tirelessly for decades to protect clean air, clean water and open spaces across Colorado and the nation,” said Senator Michael Bennet. “I believe we hold our western heritage — our land, water, and wildlife — in trust for our children and that we have a moral obligation to manage our resources responsibly so that they can be enjoyed by the next generation.  As a U.S. Senator, I have worked hard to fulfill that obligation.”

In 2009, Bennet used the words “moral obligation” to refer to health insurance reform (quote taken from his website):

We have an urgent and moral obligation to change the health care system in this country so that every American has affordable access to quality health care and so that we can relieve our families, small businesses, and economy from the catastrophic impacts of high health care costs.  We must face this problem head-on and start working towards solving it this year.
