Greg Lopez.

As watchful readers know, brief former Rep. Greg Lopez launched an unaffiliated run for governor of Colorado after ducking out of the Republican race that Victor Marx is currently on the verge of being declared the winner of. Lopez’s vanity campaign could take on new relevance in the highly likely event of a Marx flameout, an eerie parallel to the 2010 governor’s race where something quite similar happened to the party’s laughably unqualified nominee Dan Maes.

Lopez, for those who haven’t had the pleasure of getting to know him, is one of the stranger characters in Colorado politics, which is no small statement–a perennial candidate with a decidedly unsavory past who became useful to Rep. Lauren Boebert for the purpose of holding the CO-04 seat on a temporary basis while Boebert carpetbagged her way across the Continental Divide. Those six shady months in Congress is how Lopez came by the title of former representative.

Over the holiday weekend, Lopez kept things weird with a 4th of July tribute photo from a fanboy that could be headed for memedom on its own merits:

There’s…a lot going on here.

“Wolfgate” apparently refers to claims by Lopez that he personally stopped the importation of Canadian wolves to Colorado–a claim we haven’t seen backed up in any reputable media, but you can find on Lopez’s Facebook page. This individual feels so strongly about Lopez’s accomplishment that he made a color poster to celebrate! Now that you know that bit of trivia, we can move on to why this shirtless gentleman’s mini tractor is named “Red Wrath,” and what the ammo box attached to the front of the tractor is for.

There is also the possibility that we don’t want to know the answer to these questions.

But here is the opportunity for readers to do their best.
