From the department of fallen standards, we bring the headline guest for the next Lincoln Day fundraising dinner benefiting the Arapahoe County Republican Party:

Lara Logan is a once-respected former reporter for CBS News, who over the course of the last decade gradually succumbed to a series of discrediting errors and outlandish statements that left Logan unsuitable even for far-right pseudonews outlets like Newsmax. Logan was a promoter of the Pizzagate conspiracy theory that resulted in a violent incident at a Washington, D.C. pizzeria at the heart of the fable, declaring it “all true.” But it was Logan’s false reporting about the attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya in 2013 that put Logan’s credibility into the tailspin from which to the present day she has not recovered.
Logan’s most recent work pertinent to the state of Colorado, as readers know, was a “documentary” about the case of convicted felon Mesa County Clerk Tina Peters called Selection Code, about which one critic said, “There is not enough coherence in the presentation to even begin to debunk what’s going on here.”
[S]election Code asks viewers to consider whether scanned ballot images from the 2020 elections could have been digitally manipulated to alter people’s votes, or whether voting machines were programmed to change the outcome of the election, but it never actually goes beyond wait, what if? Slick production and interviews with wacko academics seek to lend the film credibility, but it’s never revealed who is doing all this nefarious programming and manipulation, nor is it ever proven that there’s been any manipulation at all.
Headlining Lara Logan to speak at the Arapahoe County GOP’s annual fundraising dinner tells us that the election denialist faction of the GOP, which of course goes right to the top to include the President of the United States, is in control of the party in one of the state most populous counties. Keep in mind always that Republicans despite the heavy-handed revisionism coming from the White House are not united in agreement over the election conspiracy theories maintained by Donald Trump, including Republican county clerks who resisted the administration’s recent apparent attempts to illegally access election systems through a surrogate.
But not in Arapahoe County, where the clerk is a Democrat and the Republicans are fully “pilled.”
