    Wednesday’s presidential debate promises sharp contrasts.

    One candidate wants to repeal Obamacare, one candidate invented it.

    One opposed the auto industry bailout, one takes credit for it.

    One doubts the scientific consensus about climate change, one believes in it.

    One wants to “voucherize” Medicare, one wants to save it.

    One dismisses nearly half of Americans as a bunch of moochers, and one claims to champion the struggling middle class.

    It promises to be an epic clash: Mitt Romney vs. Mitt Romney.

    Oh, and President Obama will be there, too.

  2. Does Schultz know that boyles is the biggest birther west of the Mississippi.  Was Jason’s recent puff piece on boyles read by Schultz’s staff and so they think that is all boyles is?????

    boyles says they are going to talk “radio.”  Let’s see if Schultz is bamboozled,

      1. Big Eddie began by saying that he “admired” boyles’ work. Big Eddie blessed the biggest birther on talk radio, locally or nationally.  I lost all respect for Big Eddie.

        boyles didn’t have to push him around…Big Eddie just rolled over and asked boyles to scratch his tummy….

        made my skin crawl….

        At the very end, Big Eddie did say that he believed that Obama was born in this country…boyles said he didn’t know….that was the extent of Big Eddie standing up to Petey “Rev Wright was once a Muslin” boyles…..

          Ed is all about Ed.  He started as a right wing bloviator and Rush wannabe — learned that seat was taken so old Eddie changed his stripes and wrapped himself up in union-made “from-the-heartland” bullshit.  Eddie likes his MSNBC gig & radio syndication so he’s not gonna diss any media asses that help him promote himself.

          1. I agree with Ed on a lot of the issues but wouldn’t call him a great critical thinker or anything like that.

            His t.v. show where he scrolls peoples dumb comments of agreement along the bottom (ala the Colorado Rockies) make me queasy.

                    lost by a greater margin.  On the other hand, if he had not publicized it so much, cooler heads might have prevailed and the Wisconsin dems might have come up with a better strategy.  I don’t know.

                    I do know he does give a platform to down ticket races and problems that are not generally publicized.

                    However, i had no reason not to respect him, earlier.

                    He opened his radio show by saying that boyles was a good guy…central leaning right.  

                    1. I support his positions, particularly as they pertain to unions, but his is a flame throwing technique, as contrasted with the conversational style of Rachel Maddow, say. He also shares Chris (Let Me Finish) Matthews’ penchant for interrupting his guests, seldom actually “letting them finish”.      

    1. he had the real math? Obama just moved up from 265 to 269 at RCP.   That means that by their calculations, and they aren’t liberal biased by any stretch, if he takes even one of the remaining  tossups and keeps his strong and leaning (they don’t  seem to give you leaning instead of toss up without more than a 5 point lead) he’s got it.  They also show a very  legit possiblity of the Senate remaining D with a couple of Ds picking up steam in races that have been virtual ties.  Fingers crossed and all that.

      It was a great sound byte. But it’s deeply flawed. The “Obama phone” program she’s touting doesn’t give out free phones to minorities. And it wasn’t started by President Obama. And this rumor isn’t new.

      As I reported months ago, there is a law in place to help low-income customers have access to basic telephone service. It’s divided into two programs: Link-Up America and Lifeline.

      Link-Up assists consumers with the installation costs of phone service. The program pays up to $30 of the cost of installation and up to $200 in the form of a one year, interest-free loan for additional installation costs.

      Lifeline provides discounts on basic monthly service at a primary residence for qualified telephone customers. These discounts can be up to $10.00 per month, or more for certain Native Americans. Generally, to qualify, your income must be at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines (these vary by location and size of family but for comparison, rings in at $22,350 for a family of four in the lower 48).

      In some instances, coverage may include discounts for cell phone service instead of land lines at primary residences because realistically, cell phone service is less expensive in some areas than traditional service.

    Also  heard on Maddow last night that GOP is ending voter reg drives in 5 states, including ours, because they have no plan B after firing the crooks they hired in the first place, knowing about their problems to the extent that they asked them to change their name to avoid connection with past corrupt practices.  

    Phony registrations, one of this crew’s problems, are one thing but they do little harm since Mickey Mouse  who lives at the gas station doesn’t ever actually vote.  This company has also gotten in trouble for tearing up registrations from people who had registered as Dems. That does real harm as a person who thinks they’re registered may find out when they go to vote on election day that they aren’t. This is from the party of superior family values, ethics and morals. As Chris Matthews would say… HA!

    2. to order permanent mail ballots be sent to those 80,000 Coloradans who registered for them but won’t receive them because they didn’t vote in the 2010 election.

      2. to people on the permanent list as they will be returned as undeliverable if the person has moved, so what’s the possible harm? They won’t be counted unless returned with the proper signature and Gessler has shown us zero cases of voter fraud by mail by an impersonator.

      The RNC knowingly employed a known vote fraud scammer, asked that he hide his involvement in Scam 2012.  He clearly instructed his canvassers to lie, deceive and destroy Democratic votes–too many similarities now in too many swing states to blame a ‘rogue’ employee.

      1. against destroying voter registration forms?  I’m not having any luck with the google. If not, it ought to be a prison time felony to fraudulently lead people to think they have registered and then destroy the form, depriving them of their civil right to vote.

          Here is a separate link that provides information on all 50 states and their laws and requirements from the Brennan Center for Justice and specifically Colorado’s requirements.

          In Colorado, an individual who “willfully” fails to submit an application to the proper county clerk can face a fine anywhere from $500 to $5,000, depending on the number of offenses committed.

          1. a fine doesn’t seem like an appropriate penalty for violating a person’s civil right to vote by failing to hand in their application on purpose if you think they aren’t going to vote the “right” way. That’s much worse than refusing to register them as they’d know they weren’t registered and could register elsewhere. I think stealing someone’s registration in order to prevent them from voting ought to be considered a very serious felony.  

  7. His column in the Washington Post today starts with a hard-to-understand baseball analogy and then concludes that Obama is winning because he is black.  Seriously.  

    Instead, the nation, which is generally reluctant to declare a president a failure – thereby admitting that it made a mistake in choosing him – seems especially reluctant to give up on the first African American president. If so, the 2012 election speaks well of the nation’s heart, if not its head.

    And now George Will posits (without any support of course) that Obama is winning because he is black.

    I would recommend that they consider that Obama’s policy goals line up better with the electorate and that American’s aren’t ready for Ayn Rand social darwinism.

In one sentence he dismisses as delusional the notion that racism is behind ODS (bad racism), but it’s real racism (the good kind) when people want to give the black guy another chance.  Why does the sentimental decision not to reject your one-time choice have to be racially based?  Like you said, he lobs that on at the end without an ounce of support.
