(Seconding the thoughts and prayers. – promoted by ProgressiveCowgirl)
The Denver paper is now reporting the news that two legislators are dealing with personal tragedies.
Selena Casso, the former wife of Rep. Ed Casso, has passed away. She was only 36 and leaves two small children.
David Misner, the partner of Sen. Pat Steadman, has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The paper reports it has progressed to a stage beyond being operable.
Thoughts and prayers to both families!

Than Senator Steadman, Dave Misner, and Representative Casso. I love all three of them dearly, have been thinking of Casso every day since the news of his family’s loss, and reading this about Dave just now hit me like a ton of bricks. So glad that Pat and Dave have each other and such a strong, loving partnership to help them through this difficult time. Get well soon, Dave!
To the Senator and the Representative,
Please know Coloradans all over this state are thinking of you and your families with much love.
Our thoughts and good wishes are with their friends and families.
Both stories break my heart. Having met Sen. Steadman and Dave just a couple times, I was struck by their commitment to each other as well as to Colorado. Thank God we live in a country (now) that will allow Pat to visit Dave in the hospital as he fights off this horrific illness.
For the children – horrible to lose their mother so young.
I come home from work and find my boyhood TV dad Andy Griffith died and now this.
Didn’t know Selena Casso but what a loss for her young children.
I do know Pat Steadman as my Senator and a friend and met Dave several times as recently as two weeks ago at an event at their house. I’m simply at a loss of words.
their loved ones. What a shame. The older you get, the more it becomes clear that life isn’t fair. Not at all.
In politics you get to know many people; you get to become true friends with very few.I am deeply saddened now.
I am so sorry to hear about Ed’s wife. We were just starting to know each other better when I left Colorado.
If it did, we wouldn’t have folks like Rep Casso and Senator Steadman (and his partner) to begin with
All three are all class – my prayers to everyone
With love – Ali
Life doesn’t suck. But dying sucks!
Just in passing, Ali, let me say how much I appreciate your upbeat comments and your human decency — even though your sig line sucks.

I love you and I love everyone here!
I appreciate your kind words – my mother taught me to always have an optimistic outlook, and my fiancee, Jennie, has only encouraged it further – I’ve always had great women in my life – it’s the main reason I love my life 🙂
