That’s the word from Matt Connelly’s Republican agit-prop website Campfire Colorado–more than a week after GOP gubernatorial candidate Hiedi Heidi Ganahl’s originally scheduled announcement of her pick for lieutenant governor last Thursday crashed and burned, with apparent first choice Las Animas County Commissioner Felix Lopez catching a case of much too publicly cold feet, another trademark Heidi Ganahl do-over is allegedly in the offing for Monday:
There is speculation that Lopez will still be Ganahl’s choice, even though that would mean the campaign straight-up lied to the Colorado Springs Gazette while managing the fallout last week when they said flatly that Lopez would not be the pick. This falsehood was mostly exposed by 9NEWS last Friday, when Lopez faked bad reception rather than answer whether he had said yes or no. Keep in mind that Ganahl hyped her LG pick with descriptors that fit Felix Lopez for a week before the abortive announcement–making it pretty clear that Lopez is who they wanted.
Either Ganahl lied to the press, which is very bad, or Ganahl is announcing a pick who wasn’t her first choice.
Which is very bad.
Either way, it’s the latest example of Ganahl creating her own stumbling blocks to trip on.

Or, maybe, we look at the guy or (unlikely) gal and decide if he or she could help govern this state with a stumblebum at the helm?
Naw, no fun in that.
This is so exciting. I don't how I can make it through the weekend in anticipation of the big moment.
I hope she got her choice to put his acceptance in writing!
Why on earth would a campaign announce a Lt. Gov. one day and not have an event until 2 days later for the two to appear together?
I don't THINK there is some sort of statutory deadline between Monday and Wednesday, as today is Friday and the results of the election aren't yet certified.
Only guess I have would be they think they can dominate TWO news cycles with the drama of the Lt. Gov. pick. Any more amusing guesses?

Haven't they dominated enough news cycles with this fuster cluck.
I'm old enough to remember the Tom Eagleton fiasco. As if the lack of vetting wasn't a big enough problem, the public humiliation George McGovern went through as he asked 11 possible replacement running mates to accept the nomination only to be turned down by each made it all the worse.
If
HiediHeidi were smart, she would do this quietly so as not to remind people of the mess up. Then change the subject to Camp Bow Wow and puppies, or something similar.Excellent!
re: If

Spilling error: For Real This Time should be For Reals This Time

I believe dave intended that as his element of humor.
Why is sarcasm wasted on the young?
I keep seeing other things in today's news cycle. What gives?
