Here's the cover photo that today graces the Facebook page of George Rivera, the GOP's successor candidate in the Colorado Senate District 3 recall election against Sen. Angela Giron next month. Safe to say, this isn't the kind of social media presence that will make Rivera's longshot bid in this Democratic stronghold any easier:
"George Rivera: Beauties and the Beast!" Not one of our reader-suggested captions.
After we checked to make sure it isn't a spoof Facebook profile, which it doesn't appear to be, we had to consider the possibility that Rivera is rolling out an honest-to-God Gotham City villain style campaign with beauty queens on trailer floats and stuff. If so, he really needs a better wardrobe. We suggest an off-white linen suit and matching fedora-style hat. The right suit and hat, some beauty queens, a few straight-pipe Harleys and 70s muscle cars, maybe Dudley Brown himself with a precision Rocky Mountain Gun Owners rifle drill team on parade down Union Avenue.
Mind you, this would not be a victory parade, but it would be entertaining.
