Lauren Boebert Living The Kid Rock High Life On Campaign Cash

  •
  • by: Colorado Pols
Kid Rock and Lauren Boebert.

As veteran local political reporter Susan Greene writes for the UK Daily Mail, Colorado’s carpetbagging cavalcade of checkbook chicanery Rep. Lauren Boebert is at it again, caught spending donor cash on a high-dollar trip to see rumored at least once-boyfriend Kid Rock last May in Texas:

The MAGA Republican’s campaign committee shelled out $925 on event tickets at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in May, the weekend the singer was hosting Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo to kick off the Professional Bull Riding Championship World Finals Championship there…

Boebert’s re-election campaign also spent $2,455 at a hotel near the stadium, Federal Election Commission documents show.

The Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) prohibits using campaign contributions for personal use.

Boebert’s office did not respond to our inquiry about her donor-funded trip and what political purpose it served.

Democrat Eileen Laubacher, the former Navy rear admiral who is hoping to challenge Boebert in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, slammed the congresswoman for her spending on the Texas trip.

‘Americans are tired of the circus they’re seeing from Washington, with politicians spending more time focusing on flying around going to concerts than passing solutions to lower costs,’ she said.

Lauren Boebert’s creative accounting to divert campaign cash to all kinds of personal needs, from the rent on her now-defunct Rifle, Colorado eatery to cheering on another erstwhile side piece, Aspen bar owner Quinn Gallagher at a bike race, is a well-established precedent at this point. With a basically nonfunctional Federal Election Commission and equally inoperative House Ethics Committee providing no real accountability for this kind of penny-ante corruption, any such justice is up to the voters–and fortunately for Boebert, she traded in the voters of the Third Congressional District for the more accommodating deep-red Republican base in the state’s redistricting dumping ground for excess Republicans, CO-04.

At this point, some of you are probably wondering what happened to Boebert’s budding romance with Donald Trump’s favorite washed-up rap rocker, since when Boebert drew attention to herself with a racially offensive Halloween costume this year she was reportedly on a date with a local man. We ourselves are only interested in angles that have a connection to official responsibilities–which include not using campaign accounts as a personal piggy bank, and not racially denigrating thousands of one’s own constituents.

But if Mr. Rock decided he didn’t need that kind of energy in his life, we get that too.
