Lauren Boebert Has Some New Explaining to Do About her Finances

We’ve been keeping an eye on the campaign finance reports and personal financial disclosures of Congressperson Lauren Boebert (R-Windsor) since we first reported in December 2020 that Boebert had collected nearly $30,000 in “mileage reimbursements” from her campaign account. At the time, Boebert’s claim was that she spent the equivalent amount of time on the road — in only about eight months — to circumnavigate the earth 1.5 times. Boebert was investigated for her campaign finance claims — which also happened to be the same amount of money that she owed to settle a tax lien for her now-shuttered “Shooters Grill” restaurant in Rifle — but ultimately she avoided any real penalty in large part because of the toothlessness of the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

The lesson that Boebert likely learned from that experience is that rules are things for other people to follow. As Caitlyn Kim of Colorado Public Radio notes via ‘X,’ Boebert’s latest Personal Financial Disclosure is as vacant as the rest of the Congressperson from CO-04:

According to Boebert’s disclosure, which she certified and digitally signed on May 28, 2025, she owns no assets whatsoever — not even a bank account:

Kim notes in a separate post that freshman Rep. Gabe Evans (R-Ft. Lupton) also filed his personal financial disclosure, though in his case he decided to insert actual information related to his non-congressional income.

It’s impossible to say whether or not Boebert made a weird mistake or if she just doesn’t give a shit about trying to follow the rules. We’ll update this post if more any information becomes available.
