Duke – you would have enjoyed the festivities! Last night Keith Richards made a surprise appearance near the end. Keith: Happy Birthday, Willie! It’s great to be here. Hell, come to think of it it’s great to be anywhere these days! Two appearances from Kris Kristofferson that didn’t leave a dry eye in the house. The children of the Highway Men singing together. I’m not sure how anyone tops this event – and the magic of 17,000 fans singing him happy birthday!

Given the common understanding at the time of the nation's founding that "arms" meant "[w]eapons of offence, or armour of defence," it is beyond reasonable dispute that improvised explosive devices enjoy full Second Amendment protection. Some well-placed IEDs would nicely compliment a trench/barbed wire/poison gas home defense system.

And in better news, Grand Junction has a new mayor: Anna Stout.
She was already the mayor. She won her council seat for another term after running unopposed. Grand Junction does not elect mayors – they elect a council and then there is a rotating appointment from the council to serve as mayor.
Just some GJ trivia for ya.
However she got there, GJ appears to be lucky to have her as Mayor. I predict that we’ll be hearing a lot more from Ms. Stout.
More important on the GJ City Council is the make-up of one conservative and six moderates-liberals. I am not saying progressive. Stout ran opposed. In the other three races, where three candidates ran as a conservative slate and all three lost. One of them was retired longtime Chamber of Commerce president, who lost to retired small businessman Scott Beilfuss, a former chairman of the Mesa County Democratic Party.
Think about that for a minute.
