Adam Frisch Nudges Expectations His Way In New Poll

CD-3 Democratic candidate Adam Frisch.

A press release from CD-3 Democratic nominee Adam Frisch touts polling numbers showing Frisch down by 7 points to freshman GOP outrage aggregator Rep. Lauren Boebert–obviously with room to improve but beating the expected performance for a Democrat in this R+9 district, as well as general expectations after Rep. Boebert blew out her Republican primary opponent Don Coram:

A poll released today of likely voters in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District shows voters are growing tired of Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-CO). The embattled incumbent is leading her opponent, Western Slope businessman Adam Frisch, by just 7 percentage points.

According to the poll conducted by Keating Research, 42% of those surveyed said they’d vote for Frisch, with Boebert receiving just 49%, less than majority support. Boebert also received less than two-thirds of the vote in the recent Republican primary. She now trails Frisch among Unaffiliated voters, the largest voting group in the district, by 8 points, with 49% saying they’d vote Frisch and only 41% for Boebert.

“These numbers reflect what we’ve been hearing from voters all across the district: that they’re ready to stop Boebert’s circus and elect a representative that will work hard to address the needs of the district on issues like inflation, jobs, water, energy independence, and more,” Frisch said. “Boebert is a show pony who only works hard to boost her own personal profile, not to deliver results for the people of Southern and Western Colorado. I’m more confident than ever that Boebert is weak and going to lose, and that the voters of CO-3 are ready for real leadership.”

Frisch gets credit for releasing honest numbers that show realistically the challenge he faces defeating Boebert in November. With that said, Boebert has consistently underperformed to a measurable degree relative to the partisan leanings of the district, and these numbers reflect that deficiency. After Boebert’s trouncing of Coram by 64-36% in the June 28th primary, she was considered safer than these numbers indicate.

No one should be under any delusions that this race will be easy for Democrats to win. But Frisch’s vast personal resources mean that he can wage full-scale war in this race like a top-tier pickup opportunity if he chooses, and all Frisch needs to show right now is that he is at least no worse off against Boebert post-primary.

Now we’ll see if Frisch can shave seven more points from Boebert’s baked-in advantage.

  1. Lauren Boebert is a Worthless POS says:

I've been harsh on suggestions that the Dems sink a lot of money into CD-3.

But I will say this:  I would rather have seen the money which the Dems wasted on propping Ron Hanks go to Adam Frisch and CD-3 than wasted trying to influence to GOP primary.

  2. bullshit! says:

It takes balls to release a poll showing yourself down 7.

I agree with Pols that's honesty. Now Frisch needs to invest a few million moving the needle.

    • Moderatus says:

I predict that 7 points will be close to Boebert's margin of victory.

I agree, it takes "balls" to admit you're going to lose months before the election.

Guys, guys! Moderatus just gave his famous Kiss O' Death kiss to LaBoBo!  This is a great day. Thank you, Modster. It means a lot.

        • Duke Cox says:

Sounds like he is definitely getting nervous.   All those Republicans who endlessly exhorted Dems to switch parties, can now take matters into their own hands and vote for Adam Frisch.

Show us how it is done, folks. I am not hearing the usual suspects going there. Whassamatta? Can't vote for a Democrat?

"I am not hearing the usual suspects going there….."

Sorry, dude, but I don't live in the 3rd District.

            • Duke Cox says:

That, right there, CHB, is what is known as a "cop out". No words of encouragement for all your GOP brethren who DO live in CD3?

Jeez…I thought the most important goal on planet Earth was to rid the congress of Reppy le Pew Pew.

              • Conserv. Head Banger says:

I knew you’d say something like that, Duke. I said it because I also knew you’d be irritated as usual.

FWIW, I’m not aware that I have any “GOP brethren” living in the 3rd District. I have other priorities, like working to protect public lands.

You’ll be surprised, Duke, to learn that Rep. Boebert has now signed on as a House sponsor for the Dolores Canyon National Conservation Area bill. Perhaps she’s feeling a little heat from candidate Frisch.

                Have a pleasant day.

                • Duke Cox says:

What doesn't surprise me CHB, is that you are now defending her. And, I suspect you will vote for her.

I think I need to put your mind at ease, CHB. Nothing you say or do irritates or bothers me. Quite the contrary. I enjoy pointing out the hypocrisy and mendacity in your political POV. Often times your commentary moves me to gales of hysterical laughter.

But, upset or irritate me? You only wish.

              • Voyageur says:

I know some fine Republicans who live in cd3.  My advice is to vote the stinkbird out now and get a real Republican back in 2024.

                • Moderatus says:

Don't you think they would have turned out in the primary?

                  • Voyageur says:

They did!  And if those same Republicans who voted against two-gun tootsie in the primary vote for Frisch or don’t vote, Our Lady of AR-15 is toast!

                    • DawnPatrol says:

GQPers have a bad habit of attempting to whistle past the graveyard when facing possibilities and potential outcomes they find ‘distasteful.’ More bluster, hubris, cowbell…their usual reactions. This thing could still end up going sideways on Yosemite Scam, particularly given the remarkable recent vote in KS (which still has GQP pooh-bahs passing bricks and reeling in despair), and the continuing devastating revelations of anti-American treachery by members of the Sedition Party from the J6 Committee — including some which could yet ensnare Tootsie herself…

      • NOV GOP meltdown says:

Frisch demonstrates he has a grasp on reality, which on its face might not seem like much, but is something that is severely lacking amongst Moddy's crew.

Now excuse me, I gotta go find 88,000 votes…

  3. JohnInDenver says:

Problem I see with this is the screen for "likely voters."

Things are so weird this year, I don't think any algorithm or polling question to determine who shows up is going to be particularly accurate.

I don't think ANYONE expected almost 200,000 unaffiliated Kansas voters would show up to vote on the Constitutional Amendment. Kansas City Star put it this way:

According to Wednesday morning totals, around 718,545 Kansas voters cast ballots for Republican U.S. Senate nominees and Democratic governor nominees combined. This number combines the highest Democratic and highest Republican turnout in the parties’ respective statewide races, which Kansas Director of Elections Bryan Caskey said would give a good estimate of partisan turnout. But these partisan votes only make up around 81% of the 908,745 ballots cast on the abortion amendment. That means nearly 19% of Kansas voters, almost one in five of those who participated in this election, did so specifically to weigh in on the amendment.

    *** A note for CHB***

Try as I may, I am unable to reply to your last post. But, you are correct.

My bad. I should have said, "would"..not will.

And to your point about responding to you…what puppy doesn't play with its favorite toy every chance it gets? Hm.?

7 points is an improvement so I will take that and continue to thank Boobert for helping me get burn pit help.  Burn baby burn…….Boobert cares nothing for veterans but she's found a few that remind me of  " blacks for trump" tee shirts and all..
