Here is an interesting article on how the GOP has captured the conservative catholic vote or vice versa.
From time to time I will update that beat.

There was a demonstration in from of Health and Human Services in DC. One family’s story:

THere are two new articles regarding what may impact the so-called catholic vote.
This from the Denver Catholic Register describes the rally against the HSS mandate –

This article is from a Philadelphia news website. It describes the second day in the trial of a catholic priest accused of covering up crimes against children –

3rd day of trial in Philly: http://www.philly.com/philly/n…
Continuing trial in Phily:

And: http://www.philly.com/philly/w…
I note that Dolan is talking up the Obama “fight” with Catholics as the same time the criminal trial of clerical coverup is unfolding in
Philadelphia. There is very little coverage of that trial, nationally. Interesting? I will continue to post links.
March 28th – T. Cardinal Dolan on the O’Reilly Factor:
Hear the leading Cardinal in the US talk about politics and Obama care –

There were no comments and so I decided that there was a lack of interest. I was unable to figure out how to delete the diary….so it should slowly sink down the list and finally disappear into oblivion.
The reason behind the diary was to examine the impact the catholic vote/issues might be having in the republican primary to see if that would impact the catholic vote in the general in Colorado…doesn’t really translate yet.
which only you should see, up there under the diary heading and your name.
Then, scroll down below the “extended text” box. You’ll see “Other Options,” but only one option offered – to delete. Check the box and click “save,” as directed, and voila!
Personally, I don’t believe Catholics vote as a bloc anymore. American conservative Catholics are American conservatives, and already ignore the more liberal teachings of the church (which isn’t shy about calling on governments to fight poverty, a notion antithetical to modern American conservatism. Liberal Catholics just as easily ignore the
ordersteachings they don’t like.I will respond to your comment and then in 30 minutes delete the diary.
You might find this link interesting. It is relatively objective and speaks to demographics of what may be the conservative catholic vote.

That’s never stopped me from posting diaries and leaving them up in the past. If you think people would benefit by checking something out, stand by it. Don’t fret over what you perceive to be a lack of interest. Have your say. People may benefit, but not respond in writing. So what?
Being ignored by my “nearest and dearest” here on the blog was hard to take. But I shall carry on with the public rejection…….
